Hey! 43 years ago I was the baby with a teen mom.....thank goodness Grandma said what was done was done, and that family takes care of family- or I might have turned out VERY different, or not turned out at all! I had the love of my mother, the love of my birth father, and the love of my dear grandparents- if you think of it, I got twice the love.

Babies don't choose their circumstances- they just come into the world looking for people to love and care for them. Looks like there are at least three very good people waiting to love this one- and how can a little one go wrong with you guys! And just think- this little guy or girl could be the new CEO of Disney who will make all things right again!!! As my dear grandmother always says, babies are God's way of telling us the world should go on.

Congratulations on becoming a grandparent- and congratulations to your DD for becoming a mom! Pixie dust and prayers for a safe (and quick) delivery.

No matter whether a suprise or planned, every baby should be celebrated.

And the fact that this baby is coming into such a loving family makes it cause for even more celebration.

Having been on both ends of the spectrum, making my own parents grandparents when I was 17 and then my own daughter (the first I gave up for adoption) making ME a grandmother before I was 41.......I can only offer love and prayers to you all in your situation! LOL Absolutely no judgements from this corner of the world.

Come back and talk to us when your son is 16. No one can completely predict the choices our children will make. Our job as parents is to raise them the best we can and support them through difficult times. Kirk seems to be just that kind of parent and I admire him. What a rock of support for his daughter!

Kirk does seem to be handling this situation as best he can.
And yes I do hope DS doesnt get himself into any trouble - Im sure we all feel this way about our kids.

Kirk I think it is amazing that you are supporting your daughter and there for her no matter what. I can only imagine the emotions she has gone through. For any age, that's a lot to deal with. But having a supportive, loving family makes it so much better.

A girl who works with my husband is also 16 and expecting, except she didn't get all this love and support from her family.

Kind of off subject but teen pregnancy is quit common now. My m,om got pregnant at 19, she had me at 20. She married my dad of course when i was 2. it wasn't fair I wasn't invited to the wedding. But I'm in Jr. High and there have been two pregnancies. They were both 12!

But anyway, what's the baby gonna be named?
