We are going to Disney next week with free dining on the QS plan. Our last two days we plan to head over to Universal. Since we are on the meal plan, I really don't want to buy meals in Universal. Does anyone have any suggestions for meals that we could get ahead of time and take into universal in a cooler bag?
We did this for our water park day a few years ago. I got a salad with dressing on the side and my husband got a sandwich with condiments on the side. For our side items/desserts, we grabbed chips and fruit with bottle water and an energy drink for beverages. We brought a little soft cooler to keep everything cold and it worked very well for us. Best wishes!
ETA: You might want to bring a ziploc bag or small plastic container to store your food items. Our only mishap was that Disney's quick service to-go containers aren't really made for transport & storage.
Also, found this on Universal's website: We offer a variety of fresh, delicious food for our guests to enjoy at restaurants and concession stands throughout our resort; however, we understand that guests may need to bring outside food and drink into our parks. Please note the following guidelines for bringing food and drink into our parks: Acceptable items:
Bottled water
Small snacks that do not require heating
Any food required for medical purposes and medically–indicated nutritional supplements
Any food required for special dietary needs
Baby food/baby formula
Soft-sided insulated bags no larger than 8.5" wide x 6" high x 6" deep
Prohibited items:
Picnic lunches
Food that requires heating or refrigeration
Alcohol and glass containers
Hard-sided coolers
Soft-sided coolers larger than 8.5" wide x 6" high x 6" deep
Coolers, suitcases, and bags with wheels
Clothing with offensive language or content
Clothing that represents someone as emergency personnel
