We just returned from 2 weeks away, beginning with DTD, WDW, Epcot and Quest. My family is very picky but i really wanted to try a couple things I read so many great things about here. I didn't get to eat at Le Cellier like I really wanted to do or any restaurant in the parks for that matter but thanks to the DIS I was able to takeout.

The night we arrived we went to the Earl of Sandwich. I'm not a sandwich eater but the descriptions, pictures and reviews had me dying to try one. I got the Full Montagu. It was a good sandwich, not what I was expecting, but it was the first sandwich I've eaten (bread and all) in many years. My son got the ham and swiss and like it, my daughter got the club and thought it was okay but we also got 3 meatball sandwiches which didn't go over well. The meatballs tasted like bought, frozen meatballs. It wasn't bad, just not what we are use to since I make my own meatballs.

At DHS I was determined to try the Brown Derby grapefruit cake and just before we left I read you could get a piece to go from Starring Rolls. Two of the sweetest CMs there helped me get one and entertained. They were so sweet and funny, even gave me the recipe. I hate to admit it I didn't really care for it, I didn't dislike it just didn't like it too much. I think it was a really cold piece that might have made a difference. I was really happy to try it though.

At WDW we went to Cosmic Rays where a wonderful CM set me up with a side of mashed potatoes, a side of string beans, a side of gravy and chicken noodle soup. Everyone else got burgers or nuggets and fries and were happy. I was thrilled to have hot food that wasn't deep fried or on a bad wheat bun.

We wanted to eat inside at Epcot, aiming for the Liberty Inn but it was getting late so and we were near Sunshine Seasons so picky eaters and all we ate there. My DH and DD got the Smoke ham and salami sandwich. They didn't like the vinegarette, cheese or arugula so they didn't really care for the sandwich. I thought it was good. My DS got the 1/2 rotisserie chicken with rice and mashed potatoes. He thought the chicken was dry and didn't like the rice but he ate all the chicken anyway and liked the potatoes. My DD went back and got a side of udon noodles which she liked and I got vegetable soup which was really good. They also had black bean soup which I tried and really liked too.

Later we went to Patisserie and got the mousse and pastry filled with cream. The mousse was amazing. The cream on the pastry was really good, but the pastry was hard to eat. Still very good.

Before we left I stopped at Le Cellier to see if it was possible to get cheddar soup and pretzel bread. The CM was wonderful and I got a small cup of soup and 3 pretzel bread sticks for $11.00. The soup was very rich but very good. It needed the bread to dip in to cut the richness. The bread was very good and my picky eaters loved it. I was so happy to get a chance to try the soup because it will be a while before I get to eat there.

One day I hope to be able to snack around the world. With teens, I don't expect to do it soon. One day when they are grown my DH and I will snack around the worlds and try some of the restaurants.

We ate at Quest we got a burger and fries, (burger was more steamed and terrible) and a butterfingers cupcake (which got thrown out) it looked really good though and a really good brownie. The service was very disorganized and slow or the 4th floor. Wouldn't bother eating there again if I went again.

We went Beaches and Cream and had wonderful burgers and fries and really great onion rings. The first time we got and a brownie ala mode, 2 mudslides, filled with brownies and delicious and a chocolate sundae also very good.

We went back just for the kitchen sink. Six of us ate it in 8 minutes. It was delicious and fun would do it again. The restaurant is sall and it can take a while to be seated so be prepared.

All in all some great experiences. One thing I left the parks wondering since so many burgers were consumed, why terrible wheat rolls when they only offer double cheese burgers. Too much saturated fat isn't cured by terrible dry rolls.

Way to navigate around the picky family!

Very cool that you got to sample the soup and bread sticks.

Sounds like a good time was had by YOU!!!
Thanks for posting!

Thanks for posting your experiences! Sound like you all had a lot of burgers, but glad you enjoyed your trip. Never had the cheese soup at Le Cellier, but didn't know you could get it to go. Hmmm - I might get to give it a try.

They did get all their favorites but mostly out of the park. We hit Pizza Hut and fast food, along with the many burgers, chicken nuggets and hot dogs they had at the park. They had no complaints about the fast food. I just can't eat it like they do.

But, yes it was great for me this time. I was so happy I learned about the take out options here. I didn't go without eating like I normally would. The inside information found on the DIS is amazing!
