Picky eater

I'm sure this question has probably already been answered many times but I have to ask. My daughter will be 13 when we go to Disney and she is a picky, picky eater. There are a lot of places we would like to eat but there is nothing on the adult menu that she will eat. If we are on the dining plan can she order off the childs menu? Thanks.

From what I understand from reading around on here, it's hit and miss. If you were paying out of pocket, she could have whatever she wanted. Sometimes a restaurant will allow an adult to order off the children's menu but serve it in a larger portion and charge an "adult" price. If she'll eat something like steak, but it's the sauces or toppings that she won't like, you can order it without said sauce or topping (I do this a lot)

Does your family enjoy buffets? Buffets are often good choices for families with picky children (and adults!) because there is so much to choose from.

And anyone is welcome to eat off the kids section of a buffet.

My 10 yo ds is also a picky, picky, picky eater. It's really bad. Really bad.

We are headed there in January. Doing the QS plan and we plan on eating really good breakfasts (he'll eat waffles and bacon) and then he'll likely eat ckn strips later in the day. I hope to supplement with some fresh fruit and yogurt as snacks.

IF we were to do the DDP, he's considered an adult. Buffets are nice but there is sooooo little he will eat we even have issues there. We probably would have just ordered him a childs meal (chicken nuggets) at TS restaurants and paid oop for it. This would have free'd up some TS credits for us to have another TS meal or two.

DS is super pickey. He has a form of Autism so his eating habits are very very limited. He was 13 on our last trip. He had no problem ordering from the kids menu while on the dining plan. There is a downside to that- if they order the entree from the kids menu, they are then restricted to the kids menu for dessert also. Not a big deal for DS since he is picky there too.

I've got a picky 13 year old too. We've always been able to order items from the kids' menus for him. Never been turned down once at a table service restaurant.
