Hi,
We are renting a mini van at the Orlando airport, on to Siesta Key and then to Disney. We would like to drop it off at WDW and than return to the airport on the Magical Express ? Any one done this before ? We need advice on how to do it and which car rental agency to use ? Any help will be greatly appreciated !

If you want to drop it off on site you need to use ALAMO or National

We obviously have different preceptions of on site. I apologise unreservidly for my attempt to help

National is also onsite. Check either the Car care center or swan and dolphin for drop points. I know that National will drop you off I believe back to your resort from the car care center.

No apologies needed. Many people don't think the hotel plaza hotels are "on site".

I was pointing them out so that the OP would have a few more choices. The individual will need to decide if they are convenient for them.

Thank you for your advice ! We like national so maybe I'll try that. We usually keep the vehicle when at WDW and never use it, so thought we would hand it in and take the Magical Express ? :beach:

WE did it a few years ago, no problem at all. We used National, picked it up at the airport and had it for a few days while we visited SeaWorld. When we moved to WDW, we checked in to the resort and then dropped it at the car center. Use ME for the trip back to the airport with no problems at all.

As for other companies on property, we rented from Hertz in 2010 and they had a counter at Shades of Green.

All the majors have sites on or close to WDW, unless you are walking back from the drop off it really does not matter if they are "on site" or close by since the difference between a 5 minute van ride and an 10 minute van ride does not make much difference

Before you book, get a quote on returning the car at the airport on departure day. The savings of returning the car at the airport may offset the additional days of the rental.

Hi, It looks like we will be renting a Minivan from Dollar, unless the other companies rates come down ? Dollar has a drop off at the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort, Downtown Disney area. We're wondering if anyone else has had any experience dropping a car at this location ?
Thanks

I would HIGHLY recommend Dollar at the Wyndham. They are the only company that does not charge a drop fee in the area. After you drop off the car you can walk across the street to Downtown Disney or have them take you wherever you need to go. This is what we did last July and it worked out great. While I returned the car the rest of the family swam at the hotel. They could also wait at DTD and shop or go to DisneyQuest.

We have had cars from National and Enterprise, never been charged a drop fee.

I was wondering how was your experience was dropping off the car ? Does Dollar have a manned drop off area at the hotel ?
Thanks for your help ! :cool1:

We just did this in September so we could drive and visit family in Ft Myers before going to Disney. We rented from Budget. We picked it up at MCO and dropped it off at the Budget rental Place at the Hilton Double Tree Hotel, right down the road from Downtown Disney. They gave me a ride back to Downtown Disney and I took the bus back to my resort. Hope this helps.

I am so glad to hear this, I'm renting from Dollar in March and from the map I saw it looked like I could literally walk across the street to Downtown Disney. I was pretty nervous but it sounds like i'll be fine!

yep it is right across the street from DTD bus stop making it convenient to just hop on a DTD bus.

And for the person who asked if the location at the Wyndham is maned YES it is.

We have rented from Alamo, Dollar, Avis and Budget and never paid a drop off fee in Florida
