Picking up Package Tickets Prior to Start of Package - Ever heard of this?

I was super excited to read this previous post so called Disney and followed the directions listed. Unfortunately the person said they didn't offer. Anyone have any updated information? Here is the originial post:

Picking up Package Tickets Prior To Start Of Package
In cases where Walt Disney World Resort Guests would like to begin using their Package Tickets prior to the day of check-in (up to three days in advance), the Guests will be directed to visit any Theme Park or DTD Guest Relations location and request Early Ticket Pick-Up. (Note this cannot be done at a water park.)

It is only valid for people with packages at a Walt Disney World owned and operated Resort. You can be staying off-property at the time you pick up the tickets. Note that if you have a package which includes Dining, although you can pick up your tickets early you cannot get access to the Dining until you have actually checked in to your Resort.

There is a possibility that if your package and the stay prior to the package are at the same Resort that you will be able to get the tickets at the Resort and not have to go to a Park Guest Relations Office.

And the tickets issued will be valid for the entire stay; they will not receive valid tickets when they actually check-in to their resort. There is a strong possibility that the tickets you have received prior to check-in cannot be added to your KTTW on or after check-in.

I would suggest you copy down the following information if you are planning to upgrade promotional tickets. If the person in the window is hesitant to upgrade these promotional tickets, ask them go go into The Hub >> WDW >> Work >> Ticketing >> Processes & Business Rules >> Early Ticket Pickup For Resort Packages where they will see the procedure.

We picked up our free dining package tickets 3 days early at the guest relation window at MK. It was really quick and easy.

Yes, it's done all the time, specially when you stay room only the first night and start a dining package the following day due to package availability. Those CMs you call on the phone probably don't know this unless they are veterans.

It depends on who you ask. I had a CM tell me I could not do this (this week) when I added my flight to my package. I told her the last CM I spoke a few weeks ago told me I could pick up the tickets up to 3 days early. She said he should not have told me this and they do it on a case by case basis. I then told her the disboards also have information stating tickets can be picked early, but then she told me there is a lot of inaccurate info on the Disboards.

Yes - you can pick your tickets up early. Not a problem - just follow the instructions in the post.

It absolutely depends who you ask. The author of the post in question is a ticketing CM at Disney (Cheshire Figment). The CMs you talk to on the phone know little, if anything, about tickets, except how to purchase them. While there is some inaccurate info on the DIS, it pales in comparison to the inaccurate info given out by CMs when you call Disney. I'm certain Cheshire Figment can run circles around any call center CM when it comes to ticketing and most other Disney matters.

Yes, you can . Just go to any park's guest relations and request early ticket pick up. We did this in December at AK and it was quick and easy .

Thank you for the feedback! I will offically say I am super excited to hear. Chesire posted such great information, but it was posted in 2007. Was hoping it was still how they handled. I will be cancelling our 1 day ticket and changing the package to a 7 day ticket. Hmmmm, now where to spend the extra $350? I'm sure I can find something at Disney!
