Picking up Alamo rental car at MCO

Last few time I flew into MCO, we rented with Dollar, where I'm a Dollar Express member. This allowed me to go directly to the parking garage to pick a car without having to stand in line first at the Dollar desk to check in. In the meantime, my friend waited for the luggage and I then picked him up at the curb. This allowed us to get out of the airport withing about 30 min. from walking of the plane, which I really liked.

This time, we booked with Alamo, where I'm also member of the Inside Alamo program. As I booked through a travel agent, I cannot do Online Check-In on the Alamo website, but because of the Inside Alamo program, they have all my informations like driver's license anyway.

Does anyone know if I will be able to go directly to the Alamo booth in the parking garage as well to pick up a car or will I need to check-in at the Alamo desk in the terminal first? Last time we rented Alamo, (didn't have the Inside Alamo card back then) I waited almost an hour in line before we could go over to the parking garage to get our car, so going to the car directly would really help!

Alamo has an outside booth as you approach the cars, you can check in there.

But we use the kiosk near the inside desk at Alamo, there are several machines and never anyone using them...we are always able to complete kiosk before luggage comes out. One of us would not be able to manage the bags alone. Kiosk always takes about 2-3 minutes tops, and then we go back to luggage and then out to pick a car.

As I was making my ressie with Alamo (and I'm in the club) it asked if I wanted to save time and use the kiosk. I thought "great" because I've done that with National and it worked good. So, I went to the info screen and it wanted to charge me an extra $7.50 on my ressie for the kiosk. Probably worth the money so I don't have to stand in line, but still why are they charging for that?

There should be no cost for using the kiosk, was it clearly stated the cost was for the kiosk, or was the rate different from original quote?

They called it some usage fee (wish I had printed it), which wasn't on my original quote. It only appeared when I clicked the "save time" option.

Very strange indeed. I went back and re-did it and picking the save time option was not the trigger, it was entering in my Southwest account number.

I've used both the kiosk and the garage booth at MCO w. Alamo. The kiosk is MUCH faster! Never anybody using them...which means no line. :goodvibes

Frequent Flyer mile charge, all rental companies pass on a charge for taking FF miles instead of internal rewards.

Will the kiosk accept bookings done via a travel agent?

When I enter the booking ID on the Alamo website in the online check-in, I get an error message, saying "This reservation was booked by a Tour Operator."
