I have been looking at rental prices for Oct. and Thrifty and Dollar are about the same.
Does anyone know if one lets you pick your own car or are you assigned a specific car/
Which is a better company?

Thank you

I've never rented from Dollar, but have rented from Thrifty on a number of occasions. I know Thrifty lets you pick your own car.

Thank you for that. I thought I read someone said that Thrifty assigned cars to you. I like to pick my own, but for the price I guess i can't be so picky.

Anyone else have any input??

Thank you...

I usually use Dollar. They let me pick my own car and I have been very happy with the customer service. Note that I joined Dollar Express which is free....not sure if that is a factor. I believe you can sign up for this on their website for free.

The last two times I rented I chose the "lock low and go" rate which was a great deal. With this option you don't choose the class of vehicle, but you still get to choose the specific vehicle within the class they select for you.

I do need a full-size so I won't do the "lock low and go" but I was happy with the price I got...

Dollar and Thrifty are the same company. Chances are they even share a car fleet at MCO like they do at many other airports (I can't recall 100% though).

Go with whichever one is cheaper. If they're the same, flip a coin or something.
