at MK no Minnie vans have a spot in bus depot while Uber/Lyft use the TTC which require either a ferry or monorail ride to get to the gate. same is true for pick up at end of day
At many of the parks they have put the Minnie Van drop-offs at the bus stops, not just MK
A driver had told me that their plan was to put them all at bus stops eventually. Now that HS has opened that may be the last one to move there, I'm not sure.
We only use Minnie Vans to MK since regular ride share is less expensive and Minnie Vans doesn't provide any advantages to the other parks

It's not that "it's how Disney did it"
It's simply that no private vehicles are allowed to drive to MK
Minnie Vans are Disney owned and operated vehicles so they are an exception to that rule.
It's the only park where there is any difference/advantage of any sort.
And in some cases, at least it was at AK, you are at a disadvantage to use Minnie Van as the drop off they used there was further away from the entrance than the rideshare drop off (I do not know if this has moved or not)
