Pi Beta Alpha -- Hand over the purple and no one will get hurt.

Hey, don't mean to barge in (I've been here before) but did ya'll hear the shamwow/graty/slapchop guy got arrested? He beat up a prostitute.
Guess she didn't love his nuts, huh? :lmao:

Glad to see you came through the surgery, Honu. Told ya you'd be fine. Now you can come clean my house. ;)

Oh, and as penance for barging in...

It'd be nice if we all could be there. We'll figure something out. We'll have it on Sunday if that's the best day for the majority of us. In any case, yes you should definitely get a new computer. We can send Jeeves out to pick up a new one for you. :thumbsup2
We will figure something out!!

It's about a restaurant. We have so much experience to draw from so it's perfect! The main character's dad runs a restaurant and it's the 'family business.' On his 18th birthday, he asks the son to go to work undercover for a rival restaurant to steal their recipe. A bunch of things ensue. It's a comedy/romance. It's coming together pretty well!
That sounds really cute!!
I make a cameo with his bro's g/f. We're girls in the audience of the restaurant that the band flirts with. :rotfl: We have a drink (grape juice to resemble wine) in every shot so I told him to credit us as drunk girls #1 2 and 3!
 I bet you are a fantastic actres!! :cool1:
Hey Unicorns! I'm officially discharged from the hospital and have moved into the hotel at the hospital. I'm doing pretty well. I have some sort of nose thing they want to watch for a few days before letting me fly, but it looks like they got all the tumor and it's just up to time to tell if it worked or not. Big hugs and thanks for all the cards and messages. They were much appreciated. :thumbsup2
HONU!!! YAY!! I am so happy you are feeling well enough to post on the DIS!! We missed you- a lot. Keep us updated on the nose thing.
By the way, I need your opinion on something. I need to get more mascara, but I don't want to get the same one again. I've been using a L'oreal one. Got any recommendations?
It's a little pricey but I love Dior Show.. Also, the new Lash Tubes are really cool (I think they're L'Oreal) but kinda a pain to get off. Everyone says it looks like I'm wearing fake lashes with the lash tubes. Also, I like L'Oreal Double Extend-- with the white on one end and the black on the other.. :thumbsup2Also, I've found that some Clinque mascara is pretty good too.
Thanks! It's good to be back on here. The hotel is pretty good actually because it's set up more for patients than a regular hotel is. The nice thing too is that the doctors will come over to see you in your room if you need them, so that's really helpful. Plus there's food options and stuff so I don't have to leave, which makes it easier.
Wow! That sounds pretty nice. It's great the doctors come to you if you need it.. what bedside service!! :)
That could be it. It would have been nice if McDreamy had been there to give me a sponge bath... :rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:
HAHAHA
OMG, I was watching Grey's Anatomy on Thursday night. Izzy had brain surgery. Now, I know I was groggy, but I KNOW I didn't come out of surgery looking like that... Her hair was perfect. No blood anywhere. No drains, monitors or anything like that. I was hooked up to more electronics than the space shuttle! I should complain to them about that too.
Oh TV. It makes us think so many things are one way and then, BAM! You learn it's really not.. Talk about disappointing. :lmao:I heard this thing on the radio where it said some Medical Doctors are complaining that Med Students have false ideas about practicing medicine or working in a hospital thanks to shows like Greys, ER, etc..:confused3

I did not hear of this until Tink and Goofy posted but I did a little investigating (that Nancy Drew in me..) and found this..

It's true.. Apparently he hired a prostitute, they went back to a hotel room, began kissing and she bit his tongue and wouldn't let go. So he punched her/ beat her up...

I guess he does have an exciting life now!! Must be from the chopped tuna...

Hi Ladies!!
I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Welcome back Honu!!

I have the Lash Tubes mascara and I love it! It is L'Oreal. It can be a pain to get off, but my lashes look great! I get the comments about my lashes looking fake too.:)

OK, thanks! Which mascara do you prefer, the Maybelline one or the Cover Girl one?

I liked the Cover Girl one better. It doesn't smudge as much!

Hey Honu! Nice to see you back so soon! I'm glad you're doing so well. We missed you!

I heard about Vince on the radio this morning. Ew. Um, no more quoting that guy ok? :lmao:

The same, I'm at work. I didn't really do much Saturday but last night my DBf and I went out to dinner and to see Monsters vs. Aliens. It was really cute! Did you do anything this weekend?

HONU!!! YAY!! I am so happy you are feeling well enough to post on the DIS!! We missed you- a lot. Keep us updated on the nose thing.

Hey Rora! I actually had a pretty good day yesterday. I don't know if it's because the tumor is gone or the medication, but I had more energy than normal.:banana::banana: Of course I'm kind of paying for it today... but that's OK.

Wow! That sounds pretty nice. It's great the doctors come to you if you need it.. what bedside service!! :)

Yeah, it's really nice!

I don't know why it made me kind of mad. Probably because here I am going through it and I feel like crap hooked up to all sorts of wires and stuff and there she is looking like an angel. Not realistic at all.

He he he he. Yeah, I can see it. They think it's all about sex and relationships and "sparkle" pagers. Ha ha ha.

Hi Ladies!!
I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Welcome back Honu!!

Hi there! Thanks! It's good to be back. :thumbsup2

Hey Honu! Nice to see you back so soon! I'm glad you're doing so well. We missed you!

Missed you too! Thanks for the McDreamy pics!:banana::banana::banana:

I heard about Vince on the radio this morning. Ew. Um, no more quoting that guy ok? :lmao:

Sigh. It looks like we're going to have to find a new motto... we're working on that.

You're welcome for the McDreamy pics! I thought you'd like that! :thumbsup2

I had a bit of a scare on the way to work today. I was stopped at a light and my car stalled out. I got it to the side of the road and it restarted just fine and it didn't happen again the rest of the way to work but I wonder what caused it. :confused3 And guess who was a few cars behind me? :sad2: Is that God's way of saying 'be nice to this guy, you might need him.'

NKOTB dates officially announced! 6/6 in Camden (about 90 minutes away!) and 6/13 at PNC in Holmdel (about 10 minuets away!) I want to go to both. I'm going to try to do a 5* or at least close seats for PNC and cheap seats for Camden. Two shows in one week...am I insane?

It's just another Manic Monday
I wish it were Sunday
'Cause that's my fun day
My I-don't-have-to-run day
It's just another Manic Monday

Happy Monday, ladies! I hope that you're all having a great day so far. I'm so glad that I've got a few minutes to chat.

SAY IT AIN'T SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :scared1: (I'd add at least 10 more scared smilies, but I'd be waaay over my smilie limit.)

That's horrible!!!! Vince, why did you have to be so stupid?????? Geez, girls, looks like we're going to have to forget about being on Team Vince and doing all of this Slap Chop stuff. We can't support a guy who does stuff like that!!!! Vince boycott!!!!!!

Thanks for telling us about this Tink & Goofy. Don't worry, you weren't "barging in". Besides, you are a part of our sister thread (the lasagna thread), so you are definitely always welcome. :grouphug: Thanks for the hot guy picture, though. They're always appreciated. ;) We love it when people come to visit us at the sorority house. If anyone causes any trouble, we just call our security guard and watch dog and have the troublemakers thrown out. :thumbsup2

Wow, those are scary pictures! Ok, this whole situation is really, REALLY disturbing. We're definitely going to have to boycott this guy. *sigh* So, I guess we'll have to support Billy Mays now. Kaboom and OxyClean for all! Hey, doesn't he have a new show on the Discovery Channel? Have any of you guys seen it yet?

By the way, thanks for doing some detective work for us, Rora. :magnify:

OK, now I need to decide which one to try. Maybe I'll just do the old "eenie, meanie, minie, moe".

Good morning ladies. Happy Monday!

Hi! How was your weekend? Oh, and how was the first aid class?

The same, I'm at work. I didn't really do much Saturday but last night my DBf and I went out to dinner and to see Monsters vs. Aliens. It was really cute!

I'm glad that you enjoyed the movie. :)

Hey Rora! I actually had a pretty good day yesterday. I don't know if it's because the tumor is gone or the medication, but I had more energy than normal. Of course I'm kind of paying for it today... but that's OK.

Hi Honu! I'm sorry to hear that you're not feeling as good today. Just take it easy and get lots of rest. I hope that you feel better.

Sigh. It looks like we're going to have to find a new motto... we're working on that.

Yeah, we're definitely going to have to vote on a new motto. I'll send out another PM so we can all vote on a new one. I'm thinking of changing the thread title too.............again.

Wow, that is scary.....especially since Elvis was nearby. I'm glad that your car was able to restart. I don't know if this is some sort of sign, but in case this is.........hmmmm............well, I guess you shouldn't ignore him completely. I guess it wouldn't hurt to at least say hi to him once in a while. You don't want to be too friendly to him because he might start to get the wrong idea.

Awesome!! Yeah, you should definitely go to both shows if you can. That'd be great if you could do the 5-star thing for at least one of the shows. :woohoo:

Yeah and it came right after me trying to get a few more cars ahead of him so I wouldn't be directly in front of him. Childish, I know. Maybe that was a sign that I should stop being such a be-yotch about it!

Awesome!! Yeah, you should definitely go to both shows if you can. That'd be great if you could do the 5-star thing for at least one of the shows. :woohoo:

I'm hoping I can! I have to talk to my sister.

How's your day going?

The first aid class was fun. They talked to us about working at the Special Olympics in May. It sounds like its going to be fun and very rewarding, but it can still have a few scary moments. They said one of the things we might see is seizures. They said that is totally normal for them and we just have to let them seize, just cup the back of their head, so they don't hurt themselves. I can't imagine watching anyone, let alone a child, go thru this. I hope I'm able to handle it. :scared:
For the most part, we'll being putting band aids on them when they fall down and giving them hugs when they finish their event.:grouphug:

Well, I don't blame you for wanting to avoid him. I don't think that you were being mean or childish at all. I'd do the same thing just for my own protection. You still need to keep your guard up.

I'm hoping I can! I have to talk to my sister.

How's your day going?

I hope you get to go!! :cool1:

I'm having a good day so far. I'm so glad that I got to come on the DIS for a while. I've missed chatting with you guys! :guilty: How's your day going so far?

I'm glad that you had a good time in your first class. That's great that they're letting you know what to expect when you go to the Special Olympics. It may be a bit hard to deal with certain situations, but I'm sure that you will be just fine. This sounds like a really great experience and I'm sure that your help will be appreciated. Honu told me that that she participated in the Special Olympics in Washington state. She had a really great time and even won a gold medal in one of the events. If you have any questions about the SO, you should definitely talk to her. :thumbsup2

I think that if that happens, you'll be more concerned with making sure they're ok that it will be less scary. I'm sure you'll be able to handle it!

Tig, my day is ok. It's pretty slow right now. I had a few things to do this morning but now I'm spending time on my cruise meet thread. I think I'm going to switch my dinner seating so we can all sit together!

Sorry I disappeared before. It was lunchtime!

I haven't seen it-- I bet it's kinda annoying

Of course!

Yeah, we definitely won't be using the tuna motto anymore. Oh, it's so sad to have to say that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (insert 10 more crying smilies here)
It is so sad we have to abandon Vince but his behavior should certainly not be associated with Pi Beta Alpha. :sad2:

Happy Monday!!!!

I've had such a busy day-- went to get fitted for my bridesmaid dress, went to lunch with my parents, went to the bank about getting a credit card and then... went to see the wedding cake lady!!! :thumbsup2:cool1: She was super nice.. we tried only 2 cakes because we decided to do them in pairs, then eliminate one from each group and then after we've tried them all, then try to decide. Today we tried peanut butter and red velvet....

omg girls--the peanut butter was probably the most delicious thing I have ever eaten. The red velvet was really good too but peanut butter won this round.

Then we washed the cars and are about to go make some dinner! I hope everyone is having a GREAT day!!!! :grouphug:
