I am trying to install photoshop on my computer, but it won't work. I have previously installed it on a computer, but we had to reinstall the computer due to a virus. Now I can't get it to do anything. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Ok, I finally got it to install. Now I am wondering if someone could recommend a good tutorial. Mostly, I'm trying to put an imagine in the back and lighten it and then put text over the top. If someone could tell me how to do this, I would be very grateful. Thanks.

I am new to this disigning thing so I am going to have to keep my eye on this thread and maybe I will learn something.

disneymom, Have you been having the terrible weather we are having here in nw kansas?? I get a new car out the whole thing but at least we did not lose our home in the storms last week. I sure hope someone can help because I would really like to be able to do my own designs instead of having these wonderful people do it for me. I just love the disigns on here. Are you planning a trip to the world?? Our next trip is aug 2009. It is going to be just a girls trip.

I am so new to Photoshop Elements myself, but I will give this a shot. Please don't cuss me if this doesn't work.

Bring in your image.
Make a copy of that layer and delete one of the layers (so you don't change your original image)
Reduce the opacity of your image until you get it as light as you want it.
Click on the Text tool and put your cursor where you want the text to be. When you start typing, Photoshop will create a new layer for the text automatically.

Whew, hope that is it. This is kind of like the blind leading the blind. :rotfl:

Mickeyfan~We are in NW Kansas and have been dealing with the weather, but most of the really bad stuff has missed us. We are going to Disney in October, and it will be the first trip for my 2 DDs and my DH. We're really excited.....I love the designs here too.

RweThereYet~I'll take any advice that I can get......thanks for trying to help. I'll give it a try and experiment a little and see if it works.

My best advice is to purchase a book on Photoshop==some of them are intimidating looking, pick up one that "speaks" to you. Play with some of the tools and then do an internet search for photoshop tutorials, you will find lots, including some on You Tube. Practice with the tutorials and you will be up and working before you know it.

I actually took a college course on it years ago (that's why I have the software.....it's an older version). I just can't remember how to do things with it.
