Photoshop cs2 Really that much money !

I have been reading reviews about Photoshop cs2. I was shocked to read the program was over $600.00

Is there a home adition ?

Is this program worth this much ?

They have a free trial download but I dont really want to try it and love it but then cant affored to buy it for a while LOL.

Depending what you what it for Photoshop Elements at $80 should be sufficient for home use.

Elements is the lay persons version of CS2. For most people that is all you would need.

PAint Shop Pro X is an excellent alternative and can be had for well under $100

Photoshop Elements 4 is fine for almost anybody, more than enough for most.

I am also interested in CS2 but as stated above is a bit more than I want to spend on a piece of software that I do not have a clue how to use. Can you suggest a place where software maybe discounted.

Sony had a promotion one time where you could buy it for half price when you bought one of their cameras.

I took a pass on it. I felt Elements (now Elements 4) was good enough. And still is.

Is photoshop compatible with Mac? Or do I have to content myself with iPhoto?

I have Photoshop Elements 3.0 for Mac. The full version is also Mac compatible. The Mac version actually came first.

I seriously think everyone should look at Elements especially if you don't know photoshop at all. Dh has CS on his work laptop and he can do nearly everything he needs it for on Elements at home.

I believe you can do the same thing with PS Elements as well. I tried both before buying.
