Here are some photos of the Ko Olina area. All are of lagoon #1 where the Disney property will be located according to folks working next door at the JW Marriott.

Lovely! We're going to be at the JW in May. Can't wait to see it in person.

Thanks for the pics! That looks like a tremendous view. I wonder how many pointsper night that will be.

I am sure it is going to be beautiful! We can't wait to try it out. I wonder if the maintance is going to be much higher per point because everything in hawaii cost more???

Well we will not be buying into this one since it so far for us from the east coast but it is a great idea for west coasters!

We go to Ko'Olina often. It's our favorite "family friendly" beach! Here's one of the other lagoons, but they all look the same. They are sheltered and there is very little wave action there, which is awesome for snorkling, just floating around and for young children.

rparmfamily, lucky you! And what a beautiful shot.

SusieBea, we stayed at the JW as well.

Photo 1 was taken around sunrise from the Southern end of lagoon #1. The JW is on the left and the empty space is the Disney property whcih apparently ends at the Wedding Chapel on the right.

Photo 2 was taken from near the public access parking lot viewing across Disney property. The line of trees leads to the Wedding Chapel.

3 is from the same spot looking toward the road.

4 is a view of the lagoon from the top of the embankment at what I judged to be the midway point of the property.

5 is just of the sunrise. It was always so beautiful.

6 was taken later in the day and is of the beach directly in front of the JW.

7 is back to early am and shows the beach in front of the Disney property from the public walkway. I loved that walk. It's 1.5 miles in length and is quite safe even before dawn.

What year is it supposed to be started and what year to be done?

We are here thru 2010 but probably will extend to 2012. If the Navy wants to pay for us to live here, sheez, I guess I can deal with that!! LOL!

It's not as big a piece of property as Disney would normally use, I think it's going to be more like towers instead of low buildings maybe? Are there artist renditions out yet?

It is totally oceanfront, which ROCKS! :) It is very quiet out at Ko'olina, it's a gated/guarded property and has security, etc.

You know I thought it looked small at first too. I wondered if it included the land on the other side of the Wedding Chapel? But from other angles, it looks large enough. The property is supposed to be 21 acres. Construction was slated to begin this year and be completed in 2011 according to the original announcement.

There was an artist rendering but it didn't show detail on the building(s). It might be on the DVC site.

Last time we were out there too I noticed the chapel and I think a parking lot behind it. I guess they could move the chapel or build behind it? There are tons of weddings out there, mostly Japanese, so I'd imagine Ko'Olina would need to keep the oceanfront chapel.

There's empty property on the other side of the chapel as well. I wonder if it has been bought yet? I didn't mean they would move or tear down the chapel. Just that my initial impression was that the site didn't appear to be that large and wondered if it the purchase was the other side too. That's before I saw the line of trees going to the chapel. And once I walked up to the property, it seemed much larger.

My DH thought Disney chose well. He thought the beach of lagoon 1 had the gentlest slope of all.

Thanks for posting, it looks like a gorgeous spot. We're pretty excited about this one!
