Your pictures are great--what kind of camera do you have?? & Where were you standing to get those pictures from MK

Those pictures were absolutley stunning! Fantastic! Beautiful! I'd love to be able to take photos like those! You have talent and a really cool camera! Love to see more!

Thank you all for the comments! :) I have more to post, but will have to do it later. My camera is a Canon 30D by the way. (I also have a Rebel XT, but I mostly use the 30D.) Not sure why you can't see exif data. I need to look at my smugmug settings, but I don't know if that would have anything to do with it.

You're photos are absolutely beautiful. The fireworks pics are amazing.

Great photos! I have the same problem with smugmug and have not yet figured out a solution. Master Mason said that smugmug strips the exif data on the smaller size images. I need to see if there is a way to change that.

Well done on the fireworks photos especially. I've got the same setup as you, and love the 70-200/f2.8L. What lens did you use for the fireworks? Exposure length?

Thank you! :) This is the first time I got to take that lens to the World, and I LOVED it! I only took it to AK. That was my test to see how bad it was to carry around, and I ended up getting a sore throat that day that turned into a full-blown cold when we got home, so that is the only day I ended up taking it. I'll probably take it to another park next time. The lens that is most often on my camera is the 28-135mm IS. That is what I used for fireworks. I use manual setting, set the aperture to f/8, the ISO to 100, and I use a cable release and try to time the shots with the bursts, so the exposure time varies. I can look up what it was on those shots if you're interested, but I'm not at home right now, so I'll have to do it later.

It's not terribly important, just curious. I actually just bought a cable release as well. Go figure. Did you bring a tripod or just place the camera on someting to stablize it?

My guess would be that most of the shots were between 2 and 8 seconds. I did bring a tripod. I have a Giottos carbon fiber one. (Can't remember the model number at this moment.) And I got a Manfrotto ball head for Christmas too, so it was mounted on those.

Wow, amazing photos. I wish I had a camera that could take pictures that good.

Excellent pictures. Really love the fireworks shots. WELL DONE!!!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Good stuff. I dig the photos. :)

Wonderful pictures! I really like #7 of the fireworks and the MGM hat. That is a great capture of the car going through the flames.
