Can someone please clarify how photopass works? Do you have to pay for it daily? Is it a flat fee and then download all you want? Or do you have to pay daily and then also pay for every pic you download? Is this even worth it when you can hand photographers your phone, and ride photos will have masks?

For now it is $20 per day for unlimited photos to download. For a while photographer stopped taking photos using your phones/cameras due to covid, and I'm not sure if that's still the case. They have set up phone stands to take your own photos at some of the photo backdrops so I think they're still trying to keep the photographers safe. Worth is going to be subjective here. I'm an AP so paying $20 for every trip doesn't make sense to me. I'm holding out for when they allow us to add a PhotoPass to the AP like they are offering for WDW. I can see if I was a tourist and plan on using all the PhotoPass spots for photos it could be worth it. Also I don't know when your trip is but once Genie+ is out I believe it's $20 for Genie+ including PhotoPass for DLR. That might make it more worth it for some people.

Good info, thank you! I'll be out there in 2 weeks, so G+ will not be a thing yet. I'll be in the parks for 4 days, so I'm not sure it'll be worth another $80. I'll ponder on this.... thank you!

There is a a one week option for photopass at Disneyland. I bought it for my trip at the end of July. I purchased it online the night before I left and then when I got to Disneyland I got a photopass card from a photographer. Then in the app I scanned the code on that card and that activated the week long photopass. It was actually very easy. I went from July 28-to August 2 and the download option on these photos expire this week.

I was on my own and the photographers at this time weren't handling guest's phones so it was worth it to get some nice pictures of myself without having to ask other guests. I was disappointed in the amount of photopass opportunities though, I got to WDW often and it seems like there is more photopass out and about there. It seems as if you won't be there for a week, but the price is the same and maybe you'll want to just pre-pay and be done.
