How and when do I buy the $99 photopass...Is this a good deal? Do you think it is worth it? I am leaving to go Wednesday and I have been told by some people that I have to buy before I get there, does anyone know about this? Thanks!

Go to the Budget Board and join a Photopass share. it's very inexpensive and I do believe that someone has a spot open in a january share.

If you're planning on having pix taken by photopass people, and you would want the CD (which gives you the original high resolution pictures, and then you can edit them online to include fun Disney borders, and each time you save an edit it saves it as ANOTHER picture, and the biggest part is that it gives you the legal right to make copies of those pictures forevermore, for non-business purposes), it makes financial sense to pre-order. Pre-ordering gets you the CD for 99 and that includes shipping. Buying it after the fact, no pre-ordering, costs 124.95 (not sure if that includes shipping).

Here you go. After spending time via email and on the phone with guest services, I finally feel that Disney is OK with the sharing. I thought it was against the copyright laws, and felt funny about it, but the gal I talked with (and she sent me a follow-up email) said I would be the agent of the CD (although I wonder if she meant DVD) and as long as I wasn't selling it, or making money, I was fine. She said many people share, and although she didn't put that in the email, she did say she thought that was smart. I told her I was sharing with people I met on a Disney board. She said others had written to let them know people were doing this, so I guess others were concerned as well. Mine is later in the month, though, so it won't help the OP. I'm doing my own, rather than joining one, because I want to sep the pics, and not have others have my pictures.

I would recommend pre-purchasing the CD. I regret that I didn't do so for our October trip. My mom suggested it but I wasnt' sure how many photopass pictures we would actually have taken. If we didnt' take a lot or the quality was poor, I thought it woud be a waste of money.

Well, I learned my lesson! We had a ton of pictures taken by the PhotoPass photogs (it's a great convenience IMHO) and the quality in general was very good. I regretted having to pay full price after the fact.
