I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but all I seem to find are photo pass share threads. How do they work? I'm tired of being the mom behind the camera, with lots of pics of DH and DS, and one of me every 3 months or so. LOL.

When you get to the park, you need to fine a CM with a kahki vest and a camera. They will give you a plastic photopass card. When any CM photographer takes your picture for the rest of your trip, they will scan your card. When you get home, you go online, enter your photopass card number and you can order CDs, prints, add signatures, borders, etc.

Getting the photopass card and getting your picture taken is free. You don't pay unless you order.

We (I) am trying to get an October Photopass Share started. I tried searching for a DL group for October but haven't found one yet. I am "placed" in a group primarily with WDW peeps. I would prefer to stay closer with my WestCoast peeps . I think another member from the DL board is also "placed" however no firm committment yet and I think the WDW board would be fine with us leaving d/t DL vs WDW.
It doesn't really make a difference that we are 2 different parks since we use the same website to upload pics and making of the CD...except for the price of the CD. WDW $99, DL $59. Sooo...
Let me know if you want to join. Maybe I'll try and start one. I don't mind being the Leader. I can make the CD's.
I will start a thread if anyone else is interested...PM me!

I wanted to add here that you can ask the PhotoPass CM to take a picture with your own camera as well and they will happily do so.

It looks like we'll be there the same time. We arrive the 1st and leave the 5th. So, how would that work with the sharing of the card, etc?

freedogshampoo is the Leader for this Share group. This should help.
This is the group I joined with the WDW people. It looks like there will be one more spot available. PM this leader and he could tell you if there is a spot. It might be easier for you to join this one than for us to try to start a new one. Right now we can be guaranteed <$20 a CD. If we can't find anyone else for the DL PPShare then we are looking at >$35. I have been asking for an Oct Share for awhile with not much luck because most people on here that are going in Oct are already in groups that are full. ...so odds of finding enough people on the DL board are probably pretty slim.
You could PM me if you want. Unless other people want to join a new Share Group than I am most likely staying with my WDW group. But you should join us!
Also...the group I mentioned above is all late Sept-Early Oct, exactly what we are...so we wouldn't have to wait the entire month of October for everyone else to take thier trips!

I also wanted to add that you can purchase the CD in the park as well if you want, which is what we did last time. We got 3 or 4 free prints when we did this.

At the park?? Because I could still access my photos online and add borders... I also added borders etc. while I was at the park on my free prints.

Borders cannot be added to the CD in the park. You can still add borders to individual prints you purchase in the park, but if you buy the CD in the park, the borders will not be included on the CD.

If you add borders at home, they will come with the CD. Adding at home does not allow you to adjust size, placement, et all, and you cannot add say a Disneyland specific border to a DCA picture. (I was able to add a Sleeping Beauty Castle border to a picture with Princess Aurora taken in DCA, but that was not an option online). Any borders you add in the park will not be saved to your PhotoPass file.

sharing is only an option, most people do not use the system that way. We take lots of pictures, then log on at home, do lots of cropping, etc and can save 3 or 4 different versions of your favorite shots. I usually then make a book, and buy the DVD. Anymore we don't buy souveniers.....the DVD which runs the slide show on our computer is our best use for our $.
