I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the correct area or not....if not, feel free to move it.

I have a question about the Photopass. I called Disney to check on a package for October and was told I could pick up my complimentary photopass card at my resort upon check in. The CM I spoke to said I could take this card w/the special number, log in on disney.com/photopass and view all my pictures taken by a CM from every park and then chose which picture(s) I wanted to purchase. COOL!! :) Called back a 2nd time concerning another question and asked again about the Photopass. Was told they are no longer available. Was a limited time only special for bookings made online but you couldn't get them any more. Mentioned this to a friend and she told me her sister and family were there last week, booked theirs through a travel agency and picked theirs up at the counter when they checked in. So I called back a 3rd time and this time I was told that yes they are still available, no you don't have to book online, yes you can get them through your resort when you check in but they are no longer complimentary....you have to pay for whatever pictures you chose to purchase. Ok, so now I'm really confused. I've had 3 different stories from 3 different CMs at Disney and I don't know what to believe. :confused3 This last CM I spoke to seemed to have it "together" more than the other 2. I told her that I had now been given 3 different stories and didn't understand why no one could give the same answer. She said the Photopass option is still coming up on their computer and apparently not all CMs had been told about the changes. So now, I'm turning to my disboard members to find out "What's the REST of the story?!" :sad2:

Thanks for any advice/direction.

Karen

I not exactly sure what they were talking about, everyone can get a photopass card.
The CM's at the parks, who take your picture give them to you. You can reuse them at all of the parks, just give them to the CM who is taking your picture, or get a new one, and when you log in when you get home, register all of your cards.... and then there are your pics.

I am not sure :confused3 what you were getting with check in though... sorry.

Since we are DVC Members, in our welcome packet was a PhotoPass card, but I didn't realize it was in there until after we had visited a park and already gotten one from a photographer. Maybe they mean they are out of the ones they supply in the welcome packet.

Since I don't think there are places at your hotel that take your picture to put on your photopass, it's just as good to just get one at the park. When you get there and the photographers are out taking pics, just get one taken and tell them you need a pass. They'll swipe a card and hand it to you!

You can get one from any photographer and then purchase your pics when back at home.

Um, I think I know why you are getting different info.
The photopass card ANYONE can get that. Once the photos are taken of you and everytime put on that card- when you get online once home (or wherever) you can look at and share them online free... only pay for the ones you want to purchase.

However, when we booked our last trip back in feb when you try to book online it did show that you get a free 5x7 with photopass (it was a certificate you get when you checked in) if you booked online. We were able to still get that with our pkg because when I called, I mentioned it- and the only reason we were calling is because we were staying 10 nights and atleast at that time (not sure if it's changed now) you couldn't book 10 night stay online. The CM agreed that it wasn't fair to punish those that stayed LONGER to not get the certificate- so it was on my pkg and I received the certificate for the free 5x7 when I checked in at the resort. So that might be what the one CM was talking about when they said you only get it with a special pkg if booked online and maybe they aren't doing it anymore? Atleast I haven't seen it mentioned when I went through the booking process several times recently online. So THAT might be what stopped- the free 5x7 if you booked online... but photopass is still around, still free except for photos you want to purchase later, etc. :)

We recieved a coupon entitling us to one free photpass picture. We recieved it upon checking in at the Pop Century and was part of the package we purchased. The first time we used the photopass, the photographer gave us a magnetic card that we used for the rest of our trip. At home, we picked out one picture, used the code on the coupon, and they sent us the picture within 4 days.
