Photopass Questions

We've never done a photopass, and we might be interested. I know how it works for the most part: you get a little ID card that the photographers scan before taking your pictures. That way all YOUR pictures are identified as yours. I know if you buy the CD, you have the "rights" to the pictures so you can print as many copies as you like at your local photograph printing place. (Am I right so far? :confused3 )

If all the above is correct, I have a few questions.

1) Can you use photopass on attraction photos? For example, instead of buying our picture on ToT and carrying it around, packing it home, etc. Can I add it to our CD? I would sort of understand if I couldn't, but that would make things easier.

2) Isn't it cheaper to PRE order the CD? Where/How do I do this? What is the price difference?

Thanks in advance everyone!!! :cheer2:

No unfortunately, we had that same question last year when we were there. The ride pics have to be purchased seperately. :sad1:

There is no pre-ordering for Disneyland/DCA photopass CD. Unless things change, once you have those DLR pictures on your account, you will see the glorious price of 59.95 (plus about $6 in shipping). If you do not wish to edit your pictures, you could buy the CD in the park, and they will throw in some 5x7 prints at the same cost.

No ride photos...even at WDW there's only one ride photo in the photopass system. :(

I think they specifically scan the cards *after* your pictures are taken, but that's just nitpicking. :goodvibes

It's cheaper to pre-order the CD only for WDW. It's already cheaper for DLR, $59.95. For WDW, it's $129.95 and $99.95 for the pre-order.

Thanks everyone for your wonderful help! I am happy that we don't have to pre-order the CD. That way, we can see if we LIKE the pictures before spending the money. I appreciate all your answers.

This was just too funny:

I LIKE the nitpicking. :goodvibes I prefer to know the correct answer before I go!

If you haven't done so yet, check out the (New :goodvibes )Sticky- Photopass poses-the cheesier the better. You'll get a lot of great ideas of photos available.

Have fun!

I second Dizneydaz's suggestion. Even though many of us have similar or identical poses and pictures, it is good to skim through that whole thread and make notes of which ones you like - both the enhancements/effects and also the background settings. For example, if you like the picture I took sitting next to Mickey on the bench but you don't like the location in which we took the picture, you may prefer Dizneydaz's version of that shot better because her location/backdrop is different. Or if you like the Tinkerbell-in-the-hand pose, but don't want it in front of the Castle and instead want to do it on Main Street, you have to know to ask the PP photographer on Main Street to give you that effect. If you like the picture where everyone is pointing to Stitch in the ground but would rather do it in front of Grizzly Peak than one of the other locations, make a note of that. There are all kinds of variations on different themes in these pictures and each photographer is a different experience because some of them are better than others and some of them are more creative and humorous, and will come up with better concepts. So even though it may seem daunting to go through all those pages of the official Photopass Sticky thread, it will be helpful to know exactly what you want so that you get all the shots you want and don't miss anything - you can't rely on the photographers to tell you about all of the enhancements they can do because they don't always tell you everything!!! I know that first-hand!
