Photopass Questions

Apparently this is a permanent change and they are going to be revising the pre-purchase price "in the near future" to reflect the difference - meaning it will be cheaper to pre-purchase the Disneyland PhotoCD the same as it is cheaper to pre-purchase the WDW CD. Right now the pre-purchases are the same price, but it's cheaper to just order the Disneyland one - so I'll wait :cool1:

I don't see how this will work since they use the same website. I've also combined DL & WDW on the online account on one CD, so I'm not sure how tht would work either. Maybe it just will default to the higher price if there's any WDW Photopass card entered. I'm guessing the reason they'd be pricing DL lower is because DL trips tend to be shorter for most people so there's not likely to be as many photos.

Hey wait. Right now, when you just go to photopass's website, it shows that lower amount to buy it. It's not park-specific at all.

So I think they are probably just lowering the overall cost of it, not just for DLR.

Since the CD's cost isn't the cost of pictures, but rather is the cost of the photo release, and since it has never mattered if you had 5 pictures or 5000 (the cost was the same) I don't think it would make sense to lower the cost for DLR, since the value of the release is the same.

I know I'm just not seeing it, but where on the site does it list the prices? Do you have to register first? I tried looking yesterday and could NOT find them, urgh! ;)

I can't see any price at all either. I'm registered, but don't have any photos. I wonder if that makes a difference.

bumbershoot - do you have photos in your account since you see the price? If so are the photos from DL or WDW?

I think you have to enter a PhotoPass ID number to get the price - so that's how they would know which park. This is the response I got "direct from the source":

Recently this year we have designed it for the price to vary depending on what park you go to. Once you go to the parks you will received a photopass number. Once you enter that photopass into www.disneyphotopass.com, the correct prices will automatically be associated with the product. $124.95 is for Disney World. $79.95 is for Disney Land. In the future we will probably adjust the prepurchase CD costs depending on the park as well, but at the moment the Prepurchase CD is $99.95. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Sincerely,

Michelle

Hope that helps.

Thanks for sharing the info! I've had DL & WDW pics in the account at the same time when my trips have been within a month of each other and ordered the CD with both. Wonder what price they'd use in that case? Probably the higher WDW one - LOL! :lmao:

Right now I have no pictures associated with my account. Here's how I'm seeing prices.

Go to site, sign into my old account. "loading please wait, loading please wait, loading please wait"....

"You don't have any Disney's PhotoPass photos in your account. They have either expired or are still being processed, which could take up to 24 hours. Add Disney's PhotoPass photos here by entering the ID# from the back of your card:"

Click on tab of Special Offers.

Look at Explore our Products, click on Photopass CD.

Site is greyed out, popup telling me "There are currently no Disney's PhotoPass photos in your account. To order a PhotoCD of your Disney's PhotoPass photos, you must first add a valid Disney's PhotoPass ID to your account." is up. Close that out...

aha, that's cute, it's an image so not copy/pastable, but the image says:

Too many great photos to choose from? They're all yours to keep with Disney's photo CD. You can save them or keep them however you choose.

It's the perfect solution to keep ALL your disney photos!

Disney's PhotoCD is $79.95;
additional copies are $19.95

And then "There are currently 0 Disney's PhotoPass photos available for inclusion on your PhotoCD." again just in case I'd forgotten. :rotfl:

Looking further into My Account, the card numbers are on the site, though there are no pictures on those cards anymore. It would be interesting for someone with nothing associated with their account, to see what prices they show. :)

I have no Photo ID numbers associated with my account yet - not until May. I have the same message, but there are no prices listed (I guess because they don't know which park I'll be going to - no PhotoPass ID numbers...). That's why I had e-mailed the Customer Support - it's weird because the prices are listed for the other products, but not for the CD. Now I know why.

It appears a brand new account with no photopas card numbers enters does not show a CD price at all. I have an account that has no current pictures, but has old WDW cards entered, and it shows $124.95. Another account has a mix of DL & WDW cards but no current photos and it also shows $124.95. I'm guessing Bumbershoot's account has old DL cards with no current photos since it's showing the lower price.

Bumbershoot, can you confirm by going to "My Account" and it will show the photopass cards entered? I'm guessing yours start with "DLR".
