So we just got back today (yay!) Had a great time...and going through my pics. Is there anyway to save the photopass pics to have printed elsewhere? I took most of the same ones myself but there are some that I would love to have just dont want to pay $12 per 5x7!!

Yes, you can buy the CD with all the pictures on it and then you own the rights to the pictures as well, so you can get them printed anywhere you want. If you want a lot of prints, this would be the way to go. I think the CD now costs about $120.00, so you would come out ahead if you wanted more than 10 pictures. Personally, I think that is ridiculously expensive for pictures but a lot of people love it, especially if you want to add the embellishments. It can also be a good deal if you have a lot of people in your party and split the cost. Other than the CD, there is no way to print the pictures yourself, sorry.

Just a tip for next time: the Photopass photographers will take the exact same pictures with your own camera if you ask them.

Never thought about asking...what a great tip.

We did buy a few of the pics last year and spent almost $100. I regret not getting the CD and owning the rights. If we get some great pics this year, I think we will definitely buy it.

actually there is a way to print them yourself. I gave a friend of mine my photopass information and she managed to get the photos from the photopass and copy them onto her computer, she then emailed all of the photos to me. I was able to copy them onto a CD and print them out myself. Unfortunately, I don't know how she copied them from the photopass site. If you know anyone who is computer savy, it is definitely worth it!

Yes, there is a way to take a screen capture of the photopass page and then crop out the extra around the photo itself. However, the resulting picture will be very small and very low quality, not really print quality. If you just want them for display on a computer or emailing, then it's fine. It is quite labor intensive though if you have a ton of pictures.

I actually did this with a couple to see how they would look printed. You are right- they were so pixilated I almost looked good!

Definitely buy the CD. Just make sure you put the borders on first if you want them.

I wish they offered a way to buy the rights and have the pictures downloaded directly to your computer.

Wish there was a way to add the borders later. A friend of mine is traveling the same week as we are and we plan to combine our photopasses and order one CD. I guess you can make a copy of the CD??? right???

Yes, I've been told by DISers who did it that you can make copies of the CD. I think this is a great idea for people who may be traveling in larger groups, they can split the cost of one CD and make copies for everyone. Just make sure that all photopass cards are registered to the same user so they will all end up on the same CD. For example, if Family A comes home and registers their card(s) and then Family B registers their card(s), they will be on two different accounts and unable to be combined onto one CD. But if Family A gives their card(s) to Family B and ALL cards are registered on Family B's account, then all the photos can be combined onto one CD which can then be copied.

Are you thoroughly confused yet?? ;)
