Is there a Universal version of Photopass? We'll be going next year and I am all about photography. However, I usually don't get any photos with myself in them, unless I have the park photographers do family shots. Does Universal have park photographers around, and if they do, is there an option to get the photos on disk? I do a bunch of stuff digitally (scrapbook, design, etc.) and I'd rather have digital copies of our photos than prints.

Unfortunately not (unless something has changed recently) ... we've seen photographers at the front of the park asking to take your picture (they then hand the individual a paper claim ticket) plus there are some rides with on-ride photos. There may be other locations for photo ops where they give you the claim tickets for the individual photo, but truthfully we've never sought them out.

The only other place I have seen photo ops is on the bridge between Jurassic Park and WWoHP. There was a guy stationed there who took your photo with Hogwarts in the background. We did have him take our picture and took the claim ticket as well as had my uncle take of a few of me and my cousin in the same spot with our own camera. So thankful the Universal guy was there and we took that claim ticket because the shots my uncle took were horrible. However, the one the TM took was amazing, full castle, the forest surrounding it and got both of us in the shot perfectly. Well worth the $15 we paid for the 8 by 10.

Thanks so much for the answers! Seems like some say yes and some say no. Guess we'll find out in six months.

They do have one. It's fairly new. They don't have a pass that you scan for each picture like at Disney but do give you a paper for each picture, then you can order what you want on one CD.

Universals system is similar to Disney's old system. They give you a paper ticket that you have to take up to the photo store at the front of the park and they pull up your photos for you.

I didn't get one but I did notice there was an option to get a CD with some of the photo packages. I have a feeling that would get pretty spendy though if you were going to the parks for more than one day.

The new system they put in the park actually does let you get a card that allows you to see the pictures online, like with PhotoPass. You just have to go up to each counter and let them know that you have the pass so they can scan it and include the photos from that location. The only downside is that you actually have to buy something before they give you the card.
