Photopass download or CD

We just got back from DLR a few days ago. I am going to order our Photopass pics online and I see I have the option of downloading them to my computer or shipped cd(s). If I choose the download option, will the pics be just as high quality as if I ordered them on CD. I'd like them as soon as possible, but is there any advantage to ordering the CD over the download? Also, if I add a border before ordering, can I save the original photo without and the border? I haven't done any editing yet.

If you add a border your picture will be saved as copy, you will not lose the original picture.

I've noticed the download option when I ordered my photos last week. Must be pretty new, I don't remember seeing it before.

I ordered my CD on the 1st and got the notice that it was shipped on Saturday. So unless you have a ridiculously fast connection and a small amount of photos I am not sure if downloading is worth a try. I had over 700 pictures, so I decided I better not risk it.

Be careful if you use the download option and make sure you download your photos right away. When we went this past May I paid for 4 different photos (cost $60) I forgot to download the photos for a couple weeks and then when I went to download they were gone, upon further investigation I found a disclaimer message in the email conformation I received that noted something about 2 weeks, so at 15 days I had taken too long. So they ARE NOT stored on the server indefinitely even after purchase.

I won't ever do it again, I will only purchase the CD, in park.
