Hi guys :) A UK visitor dropping in with a question, and to post some info that might be helpful (if it is even relevant to you) I had seen someone from Canada posting about being charged twice for shipping of the Photopass+ CD - once when you order for the voucher to be sent and then again for the final CD of images.

This was discussed on a thread on the UK Trip Planning forum recently and someone called Photopass and they said to add it to the package reservation and collect at the resort to avoid the initial shipping charge. I had emailed Photopass support before that poster had called them but their reply to me was in similar terms. I rang WDTC today and spoke to two agents. It is not an option on the UK booking system.

I am hoping this will change but failing that I will wait until 15 days out and order it to go to our resort address. Thought is I've the heads up to anyone going before me who planned on this t save the initial additional charge for gallery CD and voucher. Interestingly, last year we paid $169 for the pre order (but no initial shipping for the voucher and gallery CD) so essentially it is still cheaperr to pay up the $15 for the voucher to be sent out in advance. What annoys me is that it is free to US residents and we are paying for a voucher to be sent to us that we have to remember where we put it, make sure we remember to take it, and then take it all the way back to the USA ..... where we have paid $15 for it to come from :confused3

Anyway, I just wondered if any of you had any more information that we aren't aware of yet. It seems that Disney views us all as aliens on similar terms :lmao:

Anyway, let me know if this is not relevant, otherwise if/when I get any more info about it I will post back on here to let you all know :goodvibes

Wonder if this only applies to the WDW Photopass+? I have ordered 4 of the Photopass+ for Disneyland and never have been charged shipping when they sent the package - only when I ordered the CD - and the last 2 times I chose the download option so no shipping charges for me.

Edited to add - just went in and got all the way to checkout and there was no shipping charge for the WDW Photopass + the total price was $149 and the line for international shipping was $0.

Oh that's great news then :thumbsup2 Apologies if I caused a false alarm here. Someone had posted elsewhere saying he was being charged shipping to Canada. i don't mind paying for the final CD. It is paying for a piece of paper (and a gallery CD I already have and don't need another of) that sort of bugged me, but if they have sorted it out for you guys then all is good :) :goodvibes

P.S. Yes, I was referring only to PP+ This is a new change that has shown up for us only after the new PP site went live

Did not know there was a new site...I had a bookmark for the discounted Photopass+ offer...and that is what I used to do my dummy purchase - therefore, not sure if my purchase was done under the old site or if it automatically linked me to the new site...

Both are active at the moment because some guests started their vacation a few weeks ago with the old site and my understanding is that both sites will run until all those windows for editing and so on have expired. But I would assume new orders would be redirected to the new site. Logically. I will check quickly. Didn't think about that

Oh my, well it may have been unintentional but you are officially my hero!! Yes you were on the old site and it is still free. The new site definitely adds it at check out. Heads up for anyone planning to order - do it now!!

And thank you :worship:

When I went to complete my PP+ purchase I had the shipping charges appear to have it shipped to Canada.however, I would rather have it sent to my resort! I wonder why they sent the stock image CD ahead of time. I would rather pay shipping at the end of my trip and have my pictures and the image disk sent to me at that time! Thank you for posting!

I received my PP+ last week, I actually ordered it the day AFTER the website changed. There was no international shipping (free in fact) and it came via Fed Ex. I would just be careful in making sure you don't check "EXPRESS" shipping I think that where the double postage may come into play???

I tried again today with the preorder of Photopass + with mydisneyphotopass.disney.go.com/wdwmemories and I am still getting a 14.95$ international delivery fee. What site did you use? Am I missing something?

The confusion has come in because PP has 2 websites at the moment. The original one which is disneyphotopass.com and the new one at mydisneyphotopass.com

It was Mickey&JoshNut's post last night that made me check. I had the old pre order page bookmarked but had gone in through MDE to try and order, which takes you to the new one.

If you order on the old legacy website while it's still active, the shipping charges haven't been added there.

FWIW I have just received a reply while typing this post from Photopass Support to my email yesterday saying that guests who add this to their package to avoid shipping charges will have to pay the full price and not the pre order price. :confused3 The email they sent me a few days ago said otherwise and the agent on the phone stated that she had no idea about this at all

I get the same redirect to the new website with the 14.95$ shipping charge. This is all a little silly. I wonder what would happen if I put the resort in the shipping info... Since I am flying out of the US, I am tempted to have it shipped to our airport hotel. I have also sent an email out to customer service. I will let you know what they say.

I was the one originally inquiring about the Canadian shipping fee...
I emailed them to inquire about the outrageous fee and they finally responded 6 days later (after i already had it shipped to an alternate address in the US :( )
"Thank you for your recent PhotoPass+ purchase question.
The shipping is now charge up front. When you redeem your package, shipping charges would not apply, even for international.
If you need any further assistance, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Sounds like they were missing out on the product shipping fees, as most people were just doing the downloads, so they have added the fee up front. :(

There seems to be so much inconsistency in the responses from the Photopass Support Desk :(

It took a week for them to reply to my first email and they told me that I could have it added to my package and collect the CD and voucher at the front desk at my resort and then opt for the free download or pay for shipping if I wanted an actual CD. I don't have much choice as our photos have always exceeded the maximum size for a download but I'm happy to pay for my CD to arrive.

While waiting for the reply, someone on the UK board called Photopass and was told that they can add it to their package pretty much in the same terms as the above reply which came in later.

I called reservations to ask to have it added to my package and was told it was not an option on the system so I would have to order through the Photopass website. The agent told me she had never heard of PP+ being added to a resort package and seemed to think I was confused about the whole thing (heck, by that stage I was already well on my way!)

I then emailed PP back and got a reply the next day (yesterday) stating that I may not send it to my resort and could purchase it when we get there and pay the full price OR I could have it added to my reservation but at the full price as well, stating that there is no pre purchase discount if you add it to your package.

The only thing that was consistent among all these replies was an acknowledgment that there are 2 payments because shipping occurs twice, unless you opt for the download in which case you still have to pay for the initial shipping of the CD and voucher.

I ordered my photopass+ about 6 weeks ago on the old site and it didn't charge me shipping.. kinda glad I ordered it then!

Sorry for not replying sooner but I wanted to find the exact date and website I order through. It was the old website even though it was after the change date (sept 5).
I do remember that I specifically checked the box for "regular USPS shipping" I'm not sure if you try that at check out if it'll work.

I did try to do another order but I didn't get to the finial checkout where it adds shipping because i didn't want to reenter my credit card info just in case i got a seconded one...sorry:worried:

Disney obviously clued in to the fact that they were losing money on shipping because I am sure many people selected the "free" download option when they were actually placing the order for the photopass CD. Since there was no shipping charges when they shipped the photo gallery CD, they were losing money on shipping. I know I have selected the download option the last 2 times I got my pictures from the photopass+ CD.
