We received a card in the mail with DH's name pre-printed. It was label "Photopass Commemorative Celebration Edition". We were instructed to pre-register it, but no $$ was involved. It states on the back of the card that there is no charge to "capture, view or share" your photos; prints are available for purchase. Is this a regular Photopass? We probably won't want to purchase many photos for our trip next month. Viewing the ones we pose for would be fun. And we will be able to get our Disney Visa free photo - I assume that it can go on this photopass?

Can you tell I don't know a thing about Photopass?!

Here is a great website to get a good understanding of photopass.

You can look at your pictures, you supposedly can share them but I 1. couldn't get it to work and 2. it seems that recepients can only see the small low res images you see online. I haven't a clue what "capture" means there.

Don't forget, you can go each day for the Visa picture..."While each account is limited to one print a day, cardholders are free to visit multiple days of their vacation if they wish."

I *think* that the commemorative part is simply that the card is personalized...everything else is normal.

One of the big draws of photopass is that you can get a CD of all the images (and you can edit the images online, and those edits are saved as more pictures) taken while there, and have rights to make prints of those pictures wherever you choose. You even get the release to make those prints.

And from the website above, there's a link to a pre-order page for the CD at a savings from ordering it after the fact...if you pre-order (which does involve money up front) and then don't get many, don't get enough, don't get good pictures, you can get a refund (but you can't have actually made the final order for the CD itself- you have to make the decision while only looking at the pictures online).

Hope that helps. If not, just read the website in the link above. He's better at this than I am. :)
