Photopass card worth it? DH says no......

if the photopass CD costs $98 and 5x12 photos cost $12.

and you have at least 9 good photos on the CD, its ost getting the CD, its amzing value for money i think thou we never use it, and you can get them re-print for anything from 3p-££'s depending on sizes

Can anybody tell me what the photo pass is? I have looked on the Disney site and can't seem to get any good information. How do you use this service?

I think is is worth it..... very good photos and the best part... The MOM is in the pics... I know that I am usually not in the pic 'cause I take them all!!

It's just what it's called when the Disney photographers take your picture. And now all the photos are put on a Photopass card. As you approach a Disney Photographer, you hand them the Photopass card and they swipe it and take the pictures.

Now you can see the photos online from the comfort of your home and you no longer have to buy the photos before you leave the park. Its GREAT.

But what most here are talking about is the Photopass CD which is $99 and can fit up to 300 photos. That is a great deal if you'd like to buy a bunch of the Photopass photos. This way you can get them printed where ever you want, any sizes you want. BUT they do NOT do any border/enhancements any longer on the photos that are put on the Photopass CD so that is something to consider.

I think Photopass is great and I take advantage of it every chance I get. I've never bought the CD because there usually only is 3 - 5 photos worth buying.

Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for the info! Like many other posters, I am NEVER in the pictures. This sounds like a way for me to take a break as photographer and enjoy the sights! Do you need to purchase the CD before you end your vacation?

Are ride photos included on the CD?

julie
no ride photos in april 2006....you show your card as they are taken and the ride photos aren't taken that way

So are you saying that you can view (and download) all the pictures online when you get home without having to pay anything at all? (If you do not buy the cd.) Or is there a fee for the Photopass card itself? Thanks.

No, the photos are not free. You can view them online and then decide which to buy or you can also decide, when you get home, to buy the CD.

The only free thing is the photographers taking your pictures and viewing the pictures.

That's correct. The website does not allow for right-clicking, so you wouldn't be able to save an image like you can from most websites.

Just so I can get this straight before presenting the idea to my husband.

The photopass card. Is there a fee? And where do you get the photopass card?

You give the photopass card to a wandering photographer and ask him to photograph your family.

He takes a few pictures of what you are doing and moves on, or does he follow you around?

Then when your trip is over. You can go and view your pics, where? Buy the cd there for $98 or wait until you get home. Once you buy the cd, you can print any picture you want with your personal software programs? If you don't buy the cd, it's 12.95 each for 5X7's,and you can order those while at disney or online and then they send them to you.

Do I have this correct?

I'm so glad that you can wait until you get home to see the photos before you buy the CD. I am going to get the photos taken and then wait to see what they all look like before deciding to buy the CD.

The Photopass card is FREE. You get one when you get your picture taken by a Photopass photographer. Then you use this same card throughout your trip BUT if you forget it in your room, you can get another one from the next photographer and then when you want to view/buy them online, you can see both sets of photos off of both cards and you can combine the two cards to one CD as well.

No, the photographers do not follow you around. You find them, get your picture taken and then move on.

The rest is correct.

I believe anyone can order it from home. I haven't got a clue what shipping charges will be. You can order it HERE and maybe you can find out the shipping charges.
