No, the race brings in it's own photographer, Marathonfoto. They have quite a few candid race photo spots as well as trying to staff all character locations. Depending on how many photos you find yourself in, the pricing for a package ranges from what a rip off down to not too bad (for the digital package of all photos). If character shots are your goal, bring your own camera. Character locations will have a small to long line depending on who it is. Once at the character, hand off you camera to the handler. They will snap shot as well as the marathonfoto photographer. Remember to grab your camera then off to the race again. What many runners find is that their photos are better than Marathonfoto. As a photographer, I will tell you it is mainly because you are paying attention to the character handler who has your camera in hand rather than the other photographer.
Hope this helps
