I really need to find a good website/book or whatever that teaches me about different camera settings, what works, what doesn't and all that fun stuff ;)

I have a good camera Kodak Z612 with a 10x optical zoom but don't know much about the manual settings and how to make the most of it.

I am looking to upgrade my camera as well.

Does anyone have any suggestions/recommendations for a good tutorial and for camera suggestions too?

Thanks

"Understanding Exposure" by Bryan Peterson. Runs for about $20 at amazon.com.

Peterson's book is an excellent start for theory and background and I would also suggest looking through the resources listed online for the Short Courses Bookstore. I didn't see a booklet or download specifically for your camera but look at "Using Your Digital Camera 4th Edition" which may be helpful for you at this stage. Look through its Table of Contents. I purchased one of their booklets for my Canon G5 when I first got it and found it great for a visual learner like me!

Other advice that really helped me: practice, practice, practice and note what works!

Agree, great book to help you get started. Lots of fluff, but it does a nice job of explaining things and showing you the differences.
