Is photography allowed at the DD Cirque shows? We're headed to Mickey's World in July and planning on blowing all our meal money on a Cirque show!

hmm don't know but it's worth it anyway. i don't remember seeing any flashes but don't know about low light.. if you haven't been it's a beautiful show and would make fantastic photos though( worth going to macdonald's a few times :teeth: )

If I'm fortunate enough to have a new dslr (you listening, Santy?) I would attempt to shoot some low-light, high-ISO shots; we'll be in the cheap (relative term!) seats so flash would not reach. OTOH, my S5200 goes to ISO 800 with relatively little noise, so it will be an option if a dslr is not in my future. Mrs. YEKCIM has a D200 and a 50/1.8 that ought to work really well for that, except that I'm guessing she would need to use a much longer focal length from where we'll be fiscally restricted to sitting!

We'll probably be eating PBJ's all week long instead of the much more costly Mickey D's!

In all seriousness, our 8 YO daughter has made me promise that we can eat dinner at Earl of Sandwich at DD, where we ate on arrival night this past July. She had...you guessed it...a PBJ, but it was toasted, and very unlike the PBJ's she gets at home, or anywhere else for that matter.

I checked their website a few years ago when we went to La Nouba and it said no photography. I emailed Cirque and asked about no flash and they still said no photography at all in the shows.

That wasn't the answer I wanted but it is still a great show!

Bob:

That's about what I expected. I'm sure it will be a great show...it had *better* be, at ~$200 for two adults and one child, in the cheap seats!

They said "no cameras" at the door both times when we went. It is a shame cause it is a beautiful show and I wish I could have some pictures of it.

Thanks. We are looking forward to going and I'm very willing to spend the extra money in order for my decidedly non-WDW wife to enjoy at least a part of our four day stay.

Come to think of it, I wonder if there any husbands/wives who are equally enthusiastic about WDW. I have talked to various individuals, husbands and wives, who are bigtime WDW fans, but their spouses are lukewarm at best.

my husband hates all amusement parks ie Cedar point due to motion sickness...but loves WDW so i guess we lucked out there even though i will never again get him to go on mission space ( insert barfing smilie)

The Cirque is not camera friendly. We saw KA in Las Vegas and they did the standard bring a random member of the audience on stage. The was staged, you could tell it but it was funny because the performers proceeded to tear up his camera and dump him to never be seen again into the stage, then a ball of fire popped up like he had been disposed of. I took that as a, no camera policy.

Just buy the DVD, it's worth it.

My wife and I are both big time fans of Disney. She had never been til we went in 1995 but she is the one who always starts the "when can we go conversations". She was also the driving force behind us joining DVC.

You, sir, are a fortunate man. I should not complain, though. My wife at least *tolerates* WDW. Can't imagine someone having to "tolerate" such a wonderful place, though. She does enjoy it, once there, and has even been known to shift into full turbo commando mode. But, whereas I'm planning the next WDW trip on the way back home from the last one, she is "Disneyed-out" and is not all that wild about going back that soon.

I had been about three times in the mid 70s (yes, I'm officially a geezer) with my bro, when I was in my early 20's. At that time, WDW was the MK, monorail, parking lot, Contemporary and Poly. That was it. Next visit was July 1998, when my company chose The World as our annual meeting venue. Wife and I were childless and although we enjoyed WDW, it was not a huge deal. Next trip was December 2003 and by then our daughter was on board and 5 years old. I was completely hooked within 5 minutes of walking under the MK train station, seeing all the Christmas decor and hearing Christmas music playing on the park PA system.

Now, I can't get enough of it.

You WILL NOT be disappointed with La Nouba! We've seen it twice and it was GREAT both times. We had almost exaclty the same seats each time but on opposite sides. They were on row from the catwalk that runs around the between the upper and lower sections. Both times the performers stopped right in front of US during the show!! It was awsome! But even if you could take photographs, it would be really tough because it's quite dark.

I feel very fortunate to have the wife I have and needless to say it's more than just her feelings on Disney.

You have company in "geezerland". I was first there in 1976 for my senior class trip. My biggest memory of that trip was those darm ticket books. Never enough "E" tickets! Of course it was alot cheaper then.
