Photoboard Weekly competition - It's Castles this week

Kylieh, I'm assuming that its your daughter? What a gorgeous shot! And Princess, not too shabby either!

Thanks shushh - that's DD. It was taken in April just after she had been to BBB for her Princess Makeover. MIL made the dress and we took it over.

I often read the photography board and but I've never had anything to submit. I'm more a point and shoot kind of girl, but DH has a proper kit, but we didn't take it with us.

So when I saw this castle competition thread I decided now is the time to put something in.

PrincessInOz - I like your castle shot. I love how the castle gets lit up.

I loved yours too....and thought your daughter just looked so gorgeous in front of the castle!

And....aren't some of those shots just drop dead?

Whilst on the photography topic (here I go hijacking again! )

I severely wounded my camera at Ridemakerz at DTD by dropping it on the concrete floor! It now shudders and makes a hideous noise when I turn it on, so sadly for the rest of the trip I have a lot of not so great photos. I think I killed the auto steady thingy inside the camera when I dropped it. What was funny (not really, well we did all laugh) was after I had dropped it and partially killed it! I dropped it AGAIN!!!! about 5 minutes later! Anyway we did laugh that maybe the second drop would fix what I broke in the first drop but unfortunately it did not :rotfl:

Anyway so I am after a new camera and would love some suggestions. I had (have) a sony cybershot, which I have liked. I looked at the new model that replaces my model and it seems to have a very slow shutter speed (think that's the term). When you press the button it has a long delay before taking the photo so I would miss "the moment" often.

So am looking at kind of a point and shoot. I also need one that has the steady shot thingy in it as I shake a bit (I sound like an old lady :rotfl2:) so before that feature my shots would often not be clear because my hands move a little whilst focusing and clicking.

Would love some reviews of camera recommendations, one's you have, ones you are thinking of getting, one's you have played with and they are great.

Aussietravellers - here's a relatively new thread I've come across in my travels on the photoboard. There aren't a lot of photos to go through and there seem to be about half a dozen camera models posting so far.

Might give you a couple of cameras to start looking at....
