Did anyone take this tour? Did you think it was worth it? Does the price include the dine with Shamu or do you dine with Shamu and pay for that too?
When they take your pictures after each show, is it their photographer and then have to pay for prints later on? Can you use your camera too? How many shows and which places did they take you to take the pictures?
Thank you

I did this back in May when it was experiemental (and $150 per person..lol)it includes DWS. You get a CD with all the photos they take, i believe you can use your camera if someone if your taking seperate photos (like in my case, me and my husband we took turns). usually some of the pictures with the animals, shamu we did at the shamu Up close with the big guy. i remember the other tour had the Calves. the dolphins are by the glass also from what i remember and the for the seals they place you in a fun position..lol ITS WORTH IT believe me.

Im sure they change picture locations to keep things interesting and you may get some awesome shots :)

With reserved seating, take in the wonder of Shamu’s Believe, the captivating Blue Horizons dolphin show, and the laugh-out-loud antics of our California sea lions as Clyde and Seamore take Pirate Island. At the end of each show, you’ll have your photo taken with our animal stars. Also throughout your day meet a penguin and join us poolside for a buffet lunch hosted by our trainers as you experience Dine with Shamu with our killer whale family.

I did the tour in November and it was worth the money! I got a Shamu thumb drive with all my photos on at the end of the day. I also took my own pics during the tour.

Thank you and I love that there is a photographer so I can get family pictures. I'm the one usually taking the pictures so I probably get about 20 pictures of me and my son for an 8 day vacation.

Did you get a good location where you sat to eat at Dine with Shamu?

Wow I think this sounds great for me and my DD7 yrs.:cool1: How long is the tour please? Do you see the polar bears? Thats whats shes really " into" . Was goin to do the "Behind the scenes tour "as it includes seeing the bears, however when asking for feedback, everyone said it was only for about 5 mins, and obviously you cant pet them like the penguin!!!:rotfl:

Out of interest, how long does the Shamu shot take, to get such a great pic? guess they will do anything for a bucket of fish!!! LOL

how many pics do you get in total please? Can I have a pic taken then my DD and then a family pic of us both ? After all we are paying for it I guess?

Ay other info please.... Thanks

The tour is a 7 hours guided tour. You don't get to see the polar bears during that tour! If the tour is booked full there are 12 people in the group. The photo session with Shamu takes about 5 - 10 minutes. Depending on how many people are in your group. You usually get a group shot (in your case you and DD). When I did the tour it looked like they can't take the whales attention for too long. But you always can ask for another photo. I'm sure they'll be happy to do that! I had about 25 pictures on my thumb drive as they usually take a series of 3-4 pics.

I hope that helps.

I thought that I would share a couple of the photos we received over Christmas while on this tour:

This is my DS with Tilly (I believe that is the killer whale's nick name). I love this photo. This in of itself is totally worth the price. Just wow.

DS with the trainer who was instructing Tilly to come over to us. He moved in and out very quickly. I had to stop him for a quick photo.

DS petting the penguin. This was a great experience. Our penguin's name was Rico, which we thought was really funny since the crazy penguin from Madagascar is named Rico. The trainer assured us that this Rico came first. We learned a ton with the penguins.

DS with one of the dolphins from Blue Horizons.

What can I say, this was awesome. Our tour guide was Lisa, she rocked. I wish I had a photo of DS with her. Dang it.

WOW !!!!! thanks so much for sharing... im getting excited !!!:cool1::cool1:

You're welcome! I'm glad you're excited, we had a great time and would totally recommend this tour. I'm so happy for you!

The two of us were with another family from Chicago (5 in that group), and a family from the Netherlands (4 in that group). So it was a fairly full group, but I didn't find that to be a problem. It was a really, really great time.

One more tip: Our tour didn't start until 11:00, so we made a beeline to the dolphin feeding area to do that before the tour. I found that it enhanced our day to do this first. We also stopped by to feed the sting rays. Awesome as well.
