I was wondering what your opinion of Disney's Photo Pass. I would imagine the photo's are really nice. What type of pricing is it and do you think its worth it? Thanking you in advance for your advice and sharing your experiences.

I like the Photopass. You can pre-buy it before your trip for $99.00. When you enter the parks you will see the WDW staff photographers, they will take your pictures and give you a Photopass card and you can use that for the rest of your trip. Each time you see a photographer have them take your picture and they will scan your picture on to your Photopass card. Then when you get home you can pull up the pictures, with the code they email you after purchase, and pick the photos you want on a CD. They will then mail you the CD and the copyrights to the CD and you can take them to Walmart or Walgreens or wherever and get them developed. They also have a lot of cool software that you can use to edit your photos before you have them put on the CD.

Just to clarify...you can't automatically pre-purchase the photopass CD anymore. It's a code that you may get 30 days before your trip. We didn't get the code before our last trip....it's not a definite. You also have to have booked thru CRO to be eligible to receive the offer. That being said, if you do get a code- it's a great deal as the pictures cost $14/piece if you purchased them and the CD now costs $150.

Here is all the info on the new system

We made our reservations through a TA and was told that the TA can e-mail the photopass website with our info and they MAY would respond. Our TA did and I received an e-mail for a $50 discount when I order our CD after our trip.:cool1: I was very excited. But we were not able to pre-order.

There are photographers throughout all the parks, including the water parks. Just hand them you're card, and they'll add the pictures to it. You can find them infront of the main Icon, with most of the characters, and some of the smaller "icons", such as Tower of Terror, Everest, Rockin, Nemo. Some of them are set up for particular "magic" shots, like in front of Pirates, Soarin, or Haunted Mansion (usually only during halloween time though). These photos are edited to create a special surprise. Almost all photographers at icon locations can take a magic shot.

You'll get about 3 photos each time you have your picture taken in front of an icon. And about 5 photos when you see a character. Although night time photos at icon, it's only 2.

Occasionally, you can get more photos added. Like if you participate in the Tiana Showboat Jubilee (dunno if that's still going on though), or if you're the grand marshals of the Parade. Or if you're the lucky Veterans of the Day, and help take down the Flag on Main Street (everyday at 5pm).
They also take pictures of the marching bands that participate in the Magic Music Days.
Throughout the Deluxe resorts, you'll occasionally find a photographer roaming the lobby.

All of these photos can be added to your photopass card. And don't worry about multiple cards, you can register more than one to your account. Just make sure to take a picture of the back of the card with your own camera, or some how save the number on the back of the card. You don't need the physical card to pull up your pictures, you just need that number. So in case you loose it, you won't have to go through trying to find your photos. And in the parks, it takes two seconds at the Camera store for a CM to type in your old card number, and put all your photos on a new card.

Now at certain dining locations, they will take a picture of your group prior to seating. And while you're eating, you will be shown the photo and offered to purchase it for 30$ (you must purchase it, to have the photos added to your photopass card). It's one 6x8 and four 4x6 photos, in a cute little folder resembing the location you're at. The current dining locations are Chef Mickeys, Ohana's Breakfast, Luau, Hoop-de-doo review, Tusker House, Norway princess, and 1900 park fare. Cinderella's Royal Table is the only location that includes the pictures with the dining. They also take pictures at the "my perfect tea party" at the Grand, but I think those photos are just added to your card, not 100% sure.

There are also photographers located at the Pirates League and BBBoutique. If you do the highest package, photos are included with it. Lesser packages, photos are just added to your card.

I think Photopass is expensive, but great - especially if you have kids in tow. I found that while I was dealing with the stoller, turning on my camera, etc, I missed so much interaction between my kids and the characters. Thankfully the photopass photogs were snapping away! I still took my own pics as well, but they caught moments that I missed entirely - I mean *somebody* has to deal with autograph books, and pens! Also,it was so nice to have may pics with our whole family included. I really think if they lowered the price, they would find even more people would order the cd!

I would like to get a couple of the Magic Photos taken. I don't really want a full CD of pictures..my family doesn't have the patience to pose. Can I purchase only a few photos when I get home or do you have to buy a CD?

No, you can purchase the photos without the CD, but they are VERY expensive. You can purchase the CD for the price of 6 or 7 individual pictures. We had 140 pictures on our last Photopass CD.
