I could be way wrong, but I think I remember a discount on phots' with the characters or photopass discounts for DVC members?:confused3

Am I close or way off? Can anyone help me with the specifics?

Thanks!

There was a few months ago, but not any longer. Now there is a general public pre-pay discount that anyone can get (gets you the CD for $99 if you pay in advance). I do not have the new link for that - check www.stitchkingdom.com/disneysphotopass - I'm sure Brad has the link there.

DVC members also get a 20% discount on the resort photo sessions, which is currently $100 so it ended up being $80 plus tax. I just let them know I was a DVC member when making the appointment. We did this last week at AKL, and ended up taking almost 100 pictures. You get a CD with the images and some prints as well.

Thanks for this info.

100 photos is a lot of photos! When we did this 2 years ago at GF, we got about 30 photos, but this was with the $25.00 intro special. According to Stitchkingdom though, it is supposed to be about 40 photos. How long were you in session for? We were out about 25 mins and got about 25-30 photos. Some were good quality, others were not, but for $25.00, it was no big deal. At the time, they added them to our Photopass CD.

I am not a big fan of Photopass as I don't think the quality is there, but I was considering this as a family portrait session.

Any other info you can provide would be greatly appreciated, Tiger :)

I double checked and there are 94 photos. They are definitely not all good pictures, there are ones where we are squinting or just do not like very much, but overall there are enough that we really like that we felt the session was worth it to us. As far as the number of photos, it may be because it was just my husband and I, so we were able to quickly take our photos and move from location to location. Also, we did the first session at 8:30am so there were not too many people around to get in the way of taking pictures. We did the $25 offer at the Grand Floridian last year but were much happier this time. The photo pass photographer said it may be because there is better contrast at other resorts such as the AKL, the beach and all the buildings are so white at the Grand Floridian that it can get too bright in the sun.

Thanks - this is great info. I totally agree about the GF lighting. GF was the only resort that was doing this, so we had no choice. That is why we are contemplating giving it another chance at AKL as the scenery is better.

Thanks a bunch, Tiger :)

Oooh - I didn't realise we got a discount on the resort photo sessions. If our waitlist for AKL comes through, I'll definately book one there. :goodvibes
