I'm not sure what you consider reasonalbly priced. I have a Canon A540 that I really like, It is under 200 and there are newer versions of it now. It also does video. But remember to have several memory cards with you. Especially if you are doing some video, becuase it takes up more room.
My favorite brand is Canon. So I recomend any canon. I personally have had a problem with a sony point and shoot, so I stay away from them myslef. But others love them. I had a kodak as well, and it did well, but it broke after two years. The best thing is to hit a store or two and paly with a few and see how they feel, how light they are, and what kind of pictures they take.
Both my older kids have olympus's and they are nice, but I don't think as nice as my canon.
A really nice camera is the Canon S3 which is around 300 right now, I beleive, and it is really popular. But I guess we need to know your budget, to direct you the right way too.
