Hi all, I am new to this board. I posted on the Community Board, but thought you all may have better ideas.

I have a cherished pic of my kids with Chef Mickey. My mom has had it in a frame for several years and when I went to remove it yesterday to put in in huge poster collage, it was stuck to the galss.

My aunt suggested soaking it in water and I tried the freezer. I am too afraid to try the former and the latter didn't work.

I will scan it before I try anything else, but I really want the original photo.

And suggestions?

TIA

any chance of finding the original negative, to have a new print made..

If it is a traditional film print you can soak it in water if it is not torn. If it has any tears the water will seep between the layers of the paper, but if it is intact soaking it is the best way I know to get it off the glass. THat also works if prints are stuck together. Make sure the water is clean. Don't worry, they were processed with wet chemicals, but scanning it first is never a bad idea.

You can also try sliding a piece of waxed dental floss carefully along one edge to see if that helps.

If the photo is that cherished maybe you should just leave it in the frame? :confused3 I think I would scan it and put the copy in the collage.

Thanks for the responses. I will definately scan it first. I will try soaking it.

I wish I knew where the negatives were. That would be great. I take so many pictures, even though I am not good at it, that I would need a dedicated room in my house for negatives.

I'll let you know how I make out.
