We are going to Disney World the week before Thanksgiving. I thought it would be nice to take a holiday picture of my two kids somewhere at Disney World for our Christmas cards. We are staying at WL and going to the the Holiday party the 17th so figure I could snap a digital pic somewhere with a holiday theme or characters dressed in holiday outfits someplace and then upload them when I get home and make cards.

Or is there anyplace to get this done for me at WDW?

Thanks!

Lisa

I don't know of any place that will make cards for you at WDW. If there was someplace, it would probably be much cheaper to do it at home where you can pick the place and exactly what you want.

We get a few xmas cards every year from families that are at WDW. Most of the cards are pics just of the kids, once in awhile, we'll get a card with the parents in the pic, too. These are cards the family made themselves with just a regular pic they took at WDW.

I don't think you need to necessarily have a pic with xmas decorations. I would choose a background of someplace that is special to your family, like an attraction, resort, character, etc.

Have fun. :)

A cute place to take a Christmasy photo anytime of year is outside the Christmas store at MGM. There is a snowman in front. I have great picks of my kids hamming it up last summer. It was at least 95 degrees out and they were trying to act cold. Too cute! It's called It's a Wonderful Shop and it's in the New York street area. Good luck!!

GF has a beautiful huge gingerbread house, we've taken our picture there...it was perfect.

another anytime of year place is outside Days of Christmas store in DTD. The is an area with snowforms of Goofy, pluto, mickey and a banner that says happy holidays or something like that. I'm sure there are places in blizzard beach, wintersummerland golf too.

If you get a picture that you like on your Photopass card, you can then order Christmas cards from the Photopass web site when you get home. They have cute Disney borders for the cards that you would not ordinarily get elsewhere. It was not much more expensive than ordering the same type of card from other providers, but the cards have a little more Disney "magic!" The service is really quick, too - I had our cards in about a week.

We took a great Christmas card picture in EPCOT one year :thumbsup2

In the American Adventure they usually have Santa and Mrs Claus.....we got the whole family in there and the CM used my camera to take the picture. It was a great card...

But I do not know if they will be there the week before Thanksgiving. :confused3

For our Christmas card I just put a picture of both of my DDs with Mickey in between them at CM. The picture came out so nice I just thought it was perfect for our card.

Outside of the Christmas store in Liberty Square in MK is a sleigh that you can sit in. I have a pic of my mom in it from a few years back (I hope it's still there - I didn't notice last year). If your family had some character Santa hats or something, that would be cute. Although that location doesn't exactly scream "DISNEY WORLD". If that's what you're looking for, I would stick with a picture of a landmark or characters. Really, you can't go wrong with anywhere you choose, since the decorations will be up by then. Have fun! :thumbsup2

I find the decorations at Wilderness Lodge lobby to be very warm, traditional yet impressive and would make a really nice background for such a pic!

I just thought of another great "any time of year" spot! Santa's Winter Summerland Mini Golf! It is over by Blizzard Beach and there are two courses. The theme is that Santa and the elfs are down on vacation. One is summer and one is winter...there are LOTS of great spots for Christmas Card pictures.....including a sleigh outside where you pay that everyone can climb into! :thumbsup2

Our last trip was the first week in November (2003) and we were totally surprised when we awoke to the Polynesian's Xmas decorations during the middle of our stay. One day we took the kids pic in front of the tree and it came out so cute we used it for xmas cards.
This time around I have a digital camera & and we are going a little later in the month so I'm really hoping to get a Disney Xmas photo while we are there. We aren't able to visit every year like many on these boards do so that's sort of a special treat for us!
Also, to save some $$$ we use snapfish.com for our photos and their cards are very nice. Costco is pretty good too. :)

I make Christmas cards every year by using pictures I take on Friday after Thanksgiving at Epcot. Last year, the pics that got the best were taken in front of the gingerbread house at the American Pavillion and by the nut crackers at Germany. I went to Walmart and different shops to find cards where you insert the pics. They ended up really great!

ok when we were there in 05 we went to dtd and they had a cool snow scene with mickey. goofy , pluto and a snow man it was way cool would make a neat xmas card pic

There are so many great spots, just keep your camera with you and take a photo whenever you see something that catches your eye. Sometimes the best pictures are not the posed ones. We'll be there just after Thanksgiving. Have a great trip.
