There's not too much of a story for my shot... it's the fantastic "Remember... Dreams Come True" fireworks at Disneyland, and I had to run over from CA Adventure (after seeing a couple minutes of the Electrical Parade) for the one chance to see the fireworks in the park. (I saw them from our hotel room the night before and took plenty of photos then, too.) I found a spot and set up the tripod behind a bench and had a pretty good view, except for one kid on his parent's shoulders.
Anyway, it's the basic fireworks formula of tripod, bulb mode, and remote shutter release. This is a particularly colorful section, it's too bad that the castle is lit in a rather ghastly green in the photo.

HEY!! I'm so excited!!!
This is a shot I grabbed at Disneyland last September. We were running past the parade because we only had a little time left before we needed to find a spot for the fireworks and the DH and I wanted to catch another ride or two before it got too late. I hopped up on a bench and snapped a few of the floats as they passed. I got lucky when the Mad Hatter looked right at me. I had just switched lenses to the nifty fifty, knowing that the light was going to be fading fast. I could have used a higher shutter speed if I had switched the ISO up to 400 and that would have made it a little sharper.
But I'm thrilled to have placed in this week's contest. Thanks for liking my photo. I'm on .
