Wow, I somehow missed these results until just now. I appreciate everyone who voted for this picture. The other shots in the contest were great.

I was standing watching this parade with my family last December on a really chilly night at DL. The crowd was pretty heavy and there was one lady in particular who just about pushed me over the edge. And, I don't mean into the parade route. She was a bit behind me and the parade was moving from our right to the left but she insisted on getting pictures of everything way before waiting until they were in front of us or at least close to us. This resulted in her constantly pushing her way forward as she leaned into me and my wife. She was using a P&S and the flash was going crazy. On at least 2 occasions I believe she used my shoulder as a tripod! After being blinded more than once, I ended up having to tell her nicely to just relax and eventually everything would be in good view for her to take her pictures. I know folks get anxious about things but sometimes they need a nudge to regain a little focus. ;)

So, the Snow White float came by after things had calmed down and I snapped about 3 shots before it was gone. This particular one seemed to capture a nice light mixed with nice colors. Just some very slight motion blur on her dress allows you to sense her dancing. Other than that, it's just another parade shot. Below is the EXIF data. Thanks again for voting! :thumbsup2

What an honor for me to be in the final vote. Thank you!

Wow, I just got back from a few days away and am SO excited to find out I placed second in this contest! :cool1: Thanks so much for the votes everyone :worship:

Looking at the photo I didn't even think it would get votes because really it's not very sharp at all, but it was only taken on a little compact point and shoot - nothing fancy at all! I have since bought a nicer camera, but this photo was taken last summer in Disneyland when I only had a little Fuji F30.

The story was that we had told our daughter she could choose a princess dress for our meal at Ariel's - she was really excited and chose Belle, her favourite princess of the moment :) So of course we went to Ariel's that night, and Belle wasn't there :( DD was so disappointed.

So a couple of days later we said we'd be at Disneyland for opening, go straight to Princess Fantasy Faire (which we really han't intended to have to line up for  ) and TRY to see Belle there instead. On the morning DD wouldn't wear her princess dress - she said there was no point as Belle probably wouldn't be there anyway - but we took it with us just in case. We got to PFF and while waiting in line, DD went to the front and asked which princesses were there at the moment - I can't remember who they were, but Belle wasn't one of them. So I went and asked if the CM knew whether Belle would be around at all that day, and she said she didn't know as they didn't have a schedule, but she hadn't seen Belle that morning getting ready so she was pretty certain she wasn't around yet if she would be there at all that day.

By now we were right near the front of the line so even though she was very disappointed about not seeing Belle, DD said she'd meet the princesses anyway but she wouldn't put the dress on :( Just as we got to the front the CM whispered to us - guess who's here?! Belle! So it was a sudden rush to get the dress on - DD was so excited I can't tell you! And then she met her, and Belle was so special - she spent a long time talking to DD about school, England ... it was wonderful  And we couldn't believe our luck that Belle had just been there at the right time!

Anyway, sorry it was long but I hope it explains why it was a special photo to us :cloud9:
