Thanks so much! :goodvibes

My sister has been regularly calling Disney after booking the 2 separate villas and found out on Thursday that a 6th night opened up and they no longer have to switch rooms the final night. Yay! :cheer2:

Snow White

I finished DD's Snow White dress last night. I used the same peasant dress pattern in size 3T. To make the sleeves, I used heat-n-bond to secure the red to my blue sleeve pieces, then I top stitched the red. The edges may fray once the dress is washed, but since I pre-washed the fabric, I don't intend on washing it until AFTER she wears it in Disney. :thumbsup2 I just free-handed the shape of the red, too. There is more blue in the sleeves than the picture shows, too. The blue sections caved in a little here, but really puff up with the rest of the sleeve.

I want to be a little girl and wear the Rapunzel and Snow White dresses. You did an awesome job. :thumbsup2

aw thanks!

Since we are there on the 24 hour day, we all may wear costumes--it's encouraged! I asked DD what Mommy should dress like, and she said Aurora. So maybe I'll be making myself a princess dress?! :confused3 She and Daddy are going as Rapunzel and Flynn Rider.

She said her Papa should be Tiana!

Touring Plans Day 1
Edited 3/19

As I mentioned previously, I purchased a Touring Plans subscription after a friend let me "borrow" her log-in to see if I was truly interested. I was! Last week I spent time planning our days, and even though we can't make Fast Pass + reservations yet (very soon!), I thought it was a good idea to get a plan sketched out so I'd know what FP+ to reserve.

So, here is the ambitious plan for Day 1 at Magic Kingdom. I slotted things myself and used the "optimize" tool where Touring Plans puts things in better order based on their systems.

Day 1

Cinderella's Royal Table
8:20a.m. ADR. [I've allowed 75 minutes for this. Is that long enough?]

Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid
9:40a.m.; wait 9min; duration 7min

Pete's Silly Sideshow: Meet Minnie & Daisy
9:59a.m.; wait 1 min; duration 3min [though I hope it's longer than that!]

Pete's Silly Sideshow: Meet Goofy & Donald
10:04a.m. [likely will be later]; wait 2min; duration 7min

Dumbo the Flying Elephant
10:14a.m. [likely will be later]; wait 10min; duration 2min

Dream Along With Mickey [if time allows]
10:35a.m.; duration 20min

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train FP+ [if available]
11:00a.m.; wait 9min; duration 15min [using Child Swap]
[during child swap, ride Carousel]

Meet Cinderella & Visiting Princess FP+
11:30a.m.; wait 4min; duration 10min

Prince Charming Regal Carousel x2 [DD loves carousels]
11:45a.m.; wait 0min; duration 2min
11:48a.m.; wait 0 min; duration 2min

it's a small world
11:52p.m.; wait 16min; duration 14min

--meet Tiana and Naveen--OR

Liberty Square Riverboat
12:25p.m.; wait 8min; duration 16min

Liberty Tree Tavern
1:30p.m. [I've allowed 75 minutes]

Festival of Fantasy Parade
3:00p.m.; duration 30min

Town Square Mickey Mouse M&G
3:35p.m; wait 12min; duration 3min [again, hope it's a little longer]

WDW Railroad Main Street USA
3:51p.m.; wait 6min; duration 20min [ride whole loop back to front]

Rest--leaving park
4:30p.m.

--dinner at Contempo Cafe?--

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
6:07p.m.; wait 35min; duration 4min

Tomorrowland Speedway
6:48p.m.; wait 14min; duration 4min

Space Mountain FP+
7:08p.m.; wait 4min; duration 25min [using Child Swap]

Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
7:39p.m.; wait 11min; duration 5min

Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor
7:56p.m.; wait 7min, duration 15min

22min downtime

9:00p.m.

Then, after Wishes, we will make our way out of the park and back to BLT for bed!

Princess "Upcycle" Dress

I recently tried something new and sewed with knit! I jumped on the "upcyle" bandwagon and took an almost-too-small princess t-shirt of DD's and turned it into a dress. I added new neck binding, sleeves, side panels, and the skirt. It looks pretty good! I used a pattern, but I'll tweak it next time to make the sleeves narrower and I'd like to do a cuff on the sleeve, too.

In other trip news, we can make our FP+ selections in 2 days! I'm charting those out and am excited to get them made. I'll also be customizing our magic bands (we've been able to for awhile, just haven't chosen colors yet).

Just read the whole thing! You have some wonderful things planned. We took our DD right before she turned 3 as well. In fact, we took her for her 3rd birthday. She turned 3 during our trip. Your daughter is going to have a blast.

And those dresses.. They are so nice. I'm not nearly at that level of sewing. You have me envious :)

It looks like we are doing a lot of the same things just on different days/nights too!

I'm so excited for it! I think there will probably be tears on my end. :)

Thank you! I've gotten a little obsessive over the hobby, but I truly think with time and practice anybody could sew!

I didn't think our itineraries would overlap much on days, but yes, we are doing very similar things. Enjoy!

Oh my...I just love that latest princess dress...it is precious.

Thank you! I'm excited to try another.

Love the upcycled dress!

And your Day 1 plans look great! I am completely addicted to Touring Plans and their personalized plans. I keep going over and over it, changing them, changing them back. It's nice because you think you want to do things a certain way and it will be the best way... then Touring Plans changes it all up!

When do you start making your FP+??

Thank you! I need to throw it in the wash to hopefully give the knit some more shape after sewing. :)

Yes, I keep making slight changes, too! We make our FP+ selections tomorrow, so that will cause some changes, too! I just can't decide if Anna and Elsa is a first day "must" or not.

I was thinking that it might be easier to get a morning FP+ for Anna and Elsa towards the end of our trip, similar to it being easier to get BOG and other coveted ADR's towards the end if your trip since people can book past their arrival date. So I think we're planning to meet them towards the end, but if I can find a good one earlier that I'm sure those plans will change! Ha ha!

That's very true. I think I may see if I can get one for the 24 hour day. All my FP+ that day may be for princesses! I just don't know enough about it yet, and it'll be our 3rd day there.

I just know I'm going to end up with a day where all our FPs are princesses. I've resigned myself to this fact.

I think I'm going to make the Elsa/anna in the morning and play RP roulette and see if I can get another for something else later in the day after that one has been used.

I hear ya about not knowing enough about the 24 hour party! It will be our first day at MK and I have no idea how to during it! I tried plugging a plan into touring plans, but they said that Little Mermaid would have a 40 minute wait at like 7am or something like that... and I'm not so sure I believe that!

Fast Passes Booked

Last week I received this in the mail:

f00b4134-5d1d-42c4-b1f1-4d47250007e1_zps3f212341.jpg

Time to get serious! So, this morning while riding to work (not driving!) I logged into MDE app to find an Anna & Elsa FP+ for one of our days. I got one! YES! I waited until I could get on a real computer to make the rest.

I found the system klunky. Disney suggets times but I could edit them before accepting. :confused3 So I learned the quickest way was to say "yes" to whatever popped up and then go back in and edit the times. Editing was pretty simple. I was finished in less than 15 minutes.

Now I have to go back into my Touring Plans and update accordingly. I didn't get all the times I was hoping for, but it'll do. Here's the list!

Tuesday May 20

11:30-12:30pm Meet Cinderella and Rapunzel
3:30-4:30pm Meet Mickey at Town Square Theater (talking Mickey)
7:15-8:15pm Space Mountain

Wednesday May 21

9:40-10:40am Star Tours
4:35-5:35pm Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
5:35-6:35pm Tower of Terror

Thursday May 22

9:10-10:10am Mission Space
10:20-11:20am Soarin’
11:20-12:20pm Living with the Land

Friday May 23

11-12pm Meet Cinderella and Rapunzel
3:35-4:35pm Meet Anna and Elsa
4:40-5:40pm Meet Ariel in her Grotto

Saturday May 24

10-11am Kilimanjaro Safaris
11-12pm Expedition Everest
12-1pm Meet Disney Pals at Adventurers Outpost

I also found the system clunky when I tried to use it on my phone. I swapped to the laptop and things went more smoothly. I did the same thing as you too with the accepting and then just going in and editing. I wish we had the option to select the times at the start rather than having to go through those additional clicks. But I get it, some people will just take what they are given and leave it at that.
