Sad pandas here. We LOVE the hat. Sorceror Mickey is my fave. Mickey ever, I LOVED the hay for that reason.

There is mixed reaction to this in our group.

I am looking forward to seeing what it looks like without the hat
The troops on the other hand are disappointed that we will not be getting our usual photopass photo in front of the hat

You and I were thinking exactly the same time-line.

I was in DHS the first part of my trip earlier this month, just after the construction walls went up around the hat.
I figured that before our trip was over, the hat and walls would be gone.

But, nope.

We've only only known HS with the hat, we all liked being able to see it in the distance welcoming us. It's going to seem strange for it to be gone when we get there in March. I know a lot of you look forward to the seeing the Chinese theatre again so I hope we are pleasantly surprised with it as well. I guess to be honest Ive never really noticed it before.

While I agree and sympathize with you on this, it doesn't appear that it will happen that way. Close up shots that were posted here two weeks ago show that they are not disassembling it by taking the bolts out as if to save it for something else. They are cutting it apart. My guess is that if it comes back in any form it will not be what you know from HS.
