Hello, I rented points and was wondering what the number for Member Services is so that I can confirm my reservation.

You can not call Member Services to confirm your reservation. Only the member can call MS. You will need to get a copy of your reservation confirmation from the Member you rented from. That member owns the reservation until you check in. You do not have access to Member Services.
 
As a non-member, you will not be able to confirm or change your reservation. Anything you wish to do with your reservation will have to be done by the member that made the reservation for you. When you call Member Services, they ask for your membership number, so that leaves you out.

Ask the member to give you the confirmation letter that they received when the made the reservation for you. That should ease your mind.

Do you not trust the person you rented from?? I ask that because the logical thing would be to ask your member this question - not a bunch of strangers. But, the replies you've gotten are correct - member service will not talk to you. You don't exist to them - you're simply the guest of the member. Member services will only talk to members....same thing goes for the resort, until after you've checked in.

When renting points the only assurance you have that your reservation exists when you arrive is the member's word. The only assurance the member has that you won't do something he'll be held responsible is your word. The transaction requires trust on both sides.

I just tried this for one of my future reservations and it works just fine - if you type all of the information in correctly, LOL.

You need the reservation number, the resort, last name of the primary guest and the check in date. If any of the info you type in doesn't match exactly, you won't get anything back but a polite message saying your info doesn't match anything in their records.

It's kind of slow, too.

But still, a very nice addition for those who want/need to check on a reservation and don't have access to the Members' Website. If you are within 10 days of arrival, you can find the link to the online check in process from there, too.
