I was discussing this with DH Obi-Wan last night and I was curious to see what everyone's phobias are.

DH Matt is scared of bees. Not sure about the technical name of that - buzzbuzzaphobia? Imgonnastingyouaphobia? :p :hyper:

I have a slight case of aracnaphobia (sp?) - I just can't stand spiders but I don't go into a panic attack when I see one. ( I just scream like a 7 yr old girl..lol)

Another thing - not really a fear but more of something that I totally dislike and I freak out when I'm in it - I can NOT stand being caught in the middle of a large uncontrolled mass of people. Like when I go to the mall during a holiday and people are going every which way and it's loud...:faint: :scared: :scared1: I can handle it when it happens in my store during holidays with no problem. I think it's just a control thing with me. I have a fear of not being in control of my surroundings? I dunno.

Anyhow... what are your phobias> Come on, fess up!

and I hate intersections......I do not drive ......so when dh comes to a really busy intersection and he has to turn......and there are no arrows to help him.......I shut my eyes........I was thinking about learning how to drive for a gift to him.......but I for some reason cannot see me coming to an intersection and shutting my eyes.......just doesnt' seem to work.....but I am still thinking about it.....

My biggest fear is Heights. Which of course leads into my fear of falling. Than there is my fear of escalators, I do go on them I just have a death grip until I get to the top or bottom.

Of course my Mom said my fears, all steam from the fact that she almost fell down an escalator when she was carrying me(I was a yr. old) and pregnant for my sister. If it had not been for the gentleman behind her who grabed hold of her she would have tumbled over.

Phobias? Oh there's a few and ranging on different levels from mild to somewhat extreme. Let's just say "It's tough to be a bug" put me over the edge!!! I think I'm still traumatized!! LOL!!

elevators do me in. I would rather walk up a million steps before stepping into an elevator. When I do, I hold my breath.

Geese. The last time I was apartment hunting, if I drove up to the complex and there was a goose-sighting, I immediately cancelled my appointment and crossed that place off my list. Absolutely cannot STAND them.

Heights, elevators, crowds - not a problem. Don't particularly care for bugs or spiders, but can deal with them. Actually like snakes, as long as they're pets and not sneaking up on me somewhere outside. But geese? If they all died tomorrow, I'd be a happy girl.

Roaches! Millipedes! Centipedes! I can't take any of them.
I really don't like heights, but I manage to fly and such. Won't EVER ride ToT because of it.
I really don't like crowds either. I'll do it if I have to, but I'll avoid them if I can.

Heights, fuzzy bugs, and ventriloquist dummies:scared1:!

Spiders - I go into a complete panic attack when I see one. If there is one in my bedroom I cannot sleep there, even after my husband kills it. I have to sleep on the couch for the night or I lay awake in bed thinking there are more lurking and they're going to get me.

Arachnaphobia is one of them (dunno if I spelled that right, though). To the point I won't go on It's Tough to be a Bug any more. I don't like most other bugs, either, but the only ones that send me into a near panic are spiders. *shudder*

I have a fear of riding elevators. The only ones I don't have a problem with are the ones at Disney Quest. Otherwise, when given a choice (some buildings don't *GIVE* you that choice. ) I prefer to take the stairs or escalator. When I *do* have to ride an elevator, I'm white-knuckled to the back wall or bar until I can run off.

I'm apparently becoming mildly claustrophobic or something. Or, rather, have a fear of being *trapped* as opposed to a fear of confined places. I can handle small rooms with no problem, or caves. But put me in rush-hour traffic, especially on a bridge or between big semi's, and I have to fight not to panic. :(

And I don't know what it's called, but fear of storms. Not regular thunderstorms, but of tornados, hurricanes, flooding... The flooding doesn't bother me if I'm safe at home. But if I'm anywhere *but* home and it starts to rain and there's a possibility of flooding, I panic. :( And I drive DH crazy every year during hurricane season. Really works well with me in Houston, with yearly flooding and hurricane scares and tornados. :( I want to move to the desert. :p I'm also afraid of earthquakes. To the point that if my love of Disney weren't stronger than that fear, I'd never go to California. (Yeah, yeah, I know... earthquakes can happen in a *lot* more places than CA, that's just the one I think of. :) )
