PHM 2015-In Pursuit of Cupcakes While Running in Glass Slippers

That sounds wonderful! We have been thinking about doing one of the dessert parties. What did you not like about the MK or EPCOT ones?

The MK one just doesn't really give a good view of the show & I didn't find the desserts to be that food.

The EPCOT one seems really overpriced along with having not a ton of different dessert options (its only like 5 or 6)

I am getting excited because in less than a month I can register for the GSC! And according to my counter, in 25 days we will be in Disney! DH and I filled out the paper work for the contest we won. We hope to go next June, but it was tempting to have that be our trip for the GSC. But I wanted to enjoy each trip for what it is! We opted to stay an extra day in the resort they book for us, which is hopefully the Polynesian. DH wants to stay in the Contemporary, but I do not like it at all. He said it is just one of those places that always interested him. Oh well, he will be happy at the Polynesian especially given the number of cupcakes, pineapple drinks, and kona coffee!

How long are you going to be at Disney for? My husband & I will be there July 10th to 13th!

Caribbean Beach as we don't have enough points for this trip. We just decided on it for my birthday! I literally just planned everything out on Sunday.

Still need to decide on dinner on Thursday. Friday is Blizzard Beach & dinner @ Citricos. Saturday is Bowling, Lunch @ T-Rex, Disney Quest Afternoon w/ Dinner @ Le Cellier.

We will be in WDW from July 5 to July 9th, then we head over to Vero from July 9th to the 12th. We will just miss you . We are staying 1 night at BWV, then the other nights at AKL-Kidani. We are going with our friends and their kids, they are also DVC members.

Hi Tammie! I have followed your other TR and am excited to follow along with your PTR!

I too and hopeful to run the Princess 10K. I ran it last year with my mom but might drag DH along this year.

I haven't read through the whole thread but I did notice about your shin issues. Are you still running the 30/30? See if you can try and bump up your intervals a little. The constant stopping and re-starting used to kill my shins and joints. If you can handle a longer ratio it might help.

Crazy girl wanting to be subject to more of my whines...So glad to have you along. And it would be so great to see you at the 10K...even if you have to drag your husband along!

My intervals are getting closer to 1 minute running/30 sec walking. Yes, my shins feel better when I am running...but I am so not ready or capable of much longer running YET! You make a good point...jarring is not good!

We have explored the cupcakes of MK, GF, and POLY…time to ride that monorail loop over to the Contemporary Resort for another treasure trove of cupcakes to share and drool over until we can have the real thing…ONLY 254 DAYS! (But who is counting…ME, ME, ME!!!!)

I know that jus the name of this cupcake will get Karen’s attention! Frankly the whole name of the cupcake makes me stand up and take notice! Not a lot to find on this cupcake, but a review!

“I had the pineapple rum cupcake last week! It was very good, but not what I was expecting. The cake was a white cake and the pineapple flavor all came from the filling – but the best part was the rum-flavored buttercream! OH MY!!!”​

My thoughts: While I love everything this cupcake promises in the name, I am going to reserve deciding yay or nay until I check out ALL the cupcakes at the Contemporary Resort…because there are lots of them! What are your thoughts?

Wow, am I glad Karen took sole title of resident lush. Phew. I won't bother mentioning that I took a mixology class on the cruise and wandered the boat drunk with my mother for one afternoon! And that I can now mix 5 drinks of my own for PHM weekend. Hahahahaha!

As for the cupcake. Not sure. Just recently have I become pineapple convert. I didn't like it for the longest time. Over the past years, I have come to love it- but only real pineapple. And those wonderful things called Dole Whips.

Not sure if I would like it in a cupcake. I would be willing to take a bite out of someone else's......

I also don't like (shocker, I know) alcohol flavored sweets (like tiramisu).

My 13 year old daughter took this picture FOR ME when she was waiting for me at PHM this year...

This is on my YES list! It's actually not just the rum, it's the pineapple AND Rum. I am finding myself drawn to the exotic and strange cupcakes. I think I just figure if we are going to taste a bunch then they should be outrageous and unique, right?

Well I am thinking more and more that I have my dates narrowed down for PHM...just need SW to release schedule which isn't until the morning I leave for Rome...figures.

I am thinking of leaving as early as possible on Wednesday morning...maybe even fly to dallas the night before and get a room so I can get an early flight to Orlando and then return as late as I can on Monday.

With that being said we have been tossing around room ideas. My room needs are simple, they usually are...place to relax, nice pool, and a hot tub. I am thinking this trip I will see more of the inside of the room aka the bed since I am planning to do all 3 races. We have tossed around the idea of AKL since the very start...and if I can make it work we are going to stay at the same place as the Tweedles and have a great cupcake time...the only thing...

I need to find someone to rent DVC points from...someone that will be flexible with payment. Remember I am paying for a Europe trip. Let me pay off the trip in a couple of payments and not all at booking...SO IF YOU CUPCAKES KNOW ANYONE THAT IS RENTING THEIR DVC POINTS AND MIGHT WORK WITH ME A LITTLE ON PAYMENT...let me know! We are looking at maybe a studio or 1 bedroom...or maybe a bunch of ladies want to go in on a 2 bedroom or villa...
