PHM 2015-In Pursuit of Cupcakes While Running in Glass Slippers

:wave2:

Hello, ladies,

I subbed to this thread a few days ago and have spent that time reading up. What a wonderful, supportive thread!! The support of the running community in general is part of what got me hooked when I started running a couple of years ago. This thread is a perfect example of that!

I'm not running PHM, but the GSC is on my bucket list eventually. I've found a few other running PTRs that I'm working my way through and they've definitely inspired me to create one of my own soon. Once I read all of them. :lmao:

Anyway, just wanted to say hi and that I'm reading along. :thumbsup2

Glad you are here!!! :cool1:

Tammie, I sent you a PM...apparently I can GET your emails, but cannot reply to them. My email provider thinks you have a "bad reputation" :rotfl2:

I have a friend who did one of the Diva half marathons in California somewhere late last year, she said it is a great race series. Well put together.

I have another friend running the Myrtle Beach race this month. Don't know if she has done any of their races in the past or not.

I don't know anyone off hand who has done RnR Savannah, but I always hear for the most part good things about the RnR series. I am doing Vegas in Nov & thinking about New Orleans next year. Will also be doing Dallas next year.

Thank you for the review!! I think I am going to go for the Diva. It doesn't require as much planning and time away as the Savannah would.
I am a sucker for girly races!!! Tiara, boa, girly cut running shirt are hard to pass up. Hence why I  the Princess so much.

ZellyB,
I too love reading Dis race reports. I think I read them like other Diser's read dining reviews. It put my two loves together "funner" running and Disney.

I am doing the Peachtree City one.

So not to run in (well maybe a little) but I just gorged myself in O'hana bread pudding with extra ice cream and sauce. Now I need about 29 miles worth of distance to burn the calories consumed! Lol

Glad you are here!!! :cool1:

You found out her secret, Tammie is a trouble maker ;)

Ok, no need to rub it in ;) I haven't had Ohana bread pudding since Feb...that is too long.

Wait I thought everything was calorie free on vacation:rotfl2:!! Enjoy for us who are wishing we were there!!

Apparently my reputation is in question...and dang I am BUSTED! Yep I have a pretty "bad reputation":thumbsup2 Actually there are a few people who I am sure are lurking around the boards that would agree with that!

Apparently, my alter ego is Devil's Food Cupcake!

I even was using my work email...:confused3

Promise to be back later to catch up...we have had something every night this week so far...and for the rest of the week too! UGH...I hate this time of year!

What is your favorite place to dine at WDW? And what do you order?

Oooooh, that's easy! and hard...b/c there's more than one! :rolleyes1

Counter Service: Tangierene Cafe in Morocco. They have the BEST vegetarian platter. Yum!

Table Service is a close one. I love Indian/African type foods, so Boma and Tusker House are favorites, but Sanaa won me over with the mango margarita and the bread service! ;)

It is so hard to narrow WDW down to just 1 favorite place to eat. I am a self proclaimed foodie and enjoy studying each menu before a trip in order to make my ADRs as well as already know what I am eating before I get there. I used to obsess over touring plans, but now just the food.

My favorite ADR and meal in recent trips has to have been this past fall for ToT. Cammy and I decided to get all dolled up for the evening prior to the ToT 10-miler and truly make a night of it at Nacrossees.

First of all, the GF at dusk is beautiful and boating across the lake towards GF is magical. What I love most about the inside of Nacrossees is the windows looking over the lake and into Magic Kingdom.

What did I order? Sorry Karen you might want to look away cause I am a carnivore!

I had the Grilled Black Angus New Your Strip cooked to medium rare along with a lobster tail. Steak is probably one of my top 5 favorite foods, and I am very picky…let’s just say this was one of the BEST steaks I have ever had! And for dessert, Almond-crusted cheesecake…totally amazing in itself.

What better way to top off this amazing meal was to watch both the Electric Water Parade and Hallo-wishes from the wrap around deck at Nacrossees.

Dressing up, celebrating prerace, company of a wonderful-supportive friend, magical location, yummy meal, AMAZING dessert and speculator ending to the evening…made for the best meal I have had at WDW. I am really hoping that I can arrange for another dress up “Special Meal” with some of my cupcake ladies!

I need to put this on my list...I have always wanted to try good Mideastern food!

Love Tusker house breakfast...been trying for 3 trips to get to Boma...maybe this trip!

I wanted to say Ohana...but that darn steak and cheesecake took over!

Table service:
Akershus breakfast buffet. I love the potatoes.

Quick service: Baked sweet potato from Liberty Square Market and a Pork shank and LeFeu's brew from Gaston's.

ETA: as much as I love Table service, I think my favorite meals are quick service.

Yikes, that is hard! I love Yachtsman, O'hana, Via Napoli, Raglan Road, Cali Grill (haven't been post refurb though)...but in the end I chose Le Cellier. We had Christmas lunch at Le Cellier back in 2012, and I chose Le Cellier as my celebratory dinner after PHM this year. It is one of our favorite places at WDW.

The pretzel breadsticks are sooooo good, especially when dipped in the cheddar cheese soup ::yes::

For my entrée, always the filet with wild mushroom risotto. A steak that you don't even need a knife for is perfect...and Le Cellier never disappoints.

For dessert, honestly, we never get dessert here. I am not a crème brulee person, so I am picking a dessert from elsewhere ;) Not playing by the rules here, but...oh well.

O'hana bread pudding!! No sharing...ok, I share a little bit.

We don't typically eat at counter service places because hubby doesn't like searching for tables for our family of 6, so I can't really comment on one of those.

I'm a fan of Narcosees - yummy food and beer list. I am a seafood gal so I also love the giant sushi roll at Cal Grill. Flying Fish is good but always slow...and I did do the one in a lifetime meal after the PHM, with wine pairings. Made for some smiley photos afterward
