PHM 2015-In Pursuit of Cupcakes While Running in Glass Slippers

Motivation Monday

"Remember, the feeling you get from a good run (or just a run) is far better
than the feeling you get from not getting out there and doing it!
"

Isn't that the truth...I dread sometimes the thought of the distance I have to cover for a certain day, but once I get started all of that dread is washed away and I am left with a total sense of accomplishement. If anyone needs motivation right now it is me....I have not run in over 4 weeks. I had packed everything to run while we were in Europe, but I after all the walking we were doing I just did not have the energy to get out there and run in the morning, plus the fact that it would give my nagging shins ample time to rest. I regret not doing it now, because it would have been so much fun to share these runs with you. Last week it was dealing with jet lag and playing catch up at work. Today, I am going to sit down and make a run calendar for the next few months and maybe that will get me back in the run mode....

I need to update with my Zombie Run and my newest shoe fitting....and upcoming races (one that involves a DISmeet)!

ADR Planning Update

There are so many things are happening on the planning front right now since our ADR day is Friday. Wow, I can hardly believe that I am about to be back under 6 months again! Time really does fly when you are having fun…I know I have been having lots of fun with the PTR and meeting all of you wonderful ladies who look at running, Disney, and planning like I do. What is even more wonderful is the friendships that are being made here, on FB and through private messages! You ladies rock and I can’t wait till we are RUNNING, CRAWLING, SINGING, DRINKING & LOUNGING by the pool together!

Here is what “WE” (Tammie, Cammy, Amy, Heather & Betsy) have been thinking as to ADRs…

Breakfast

Boma-Someplace new for us, plus the fact that have French Toast Bread Pudding & Jambo/Jungle Juice!

Kona-A favorite of all of us and can’t wait to meet up with some more of our cupcake friends to share some Tonga Toast with them If you would like to join in, please PM me ASAP as Debra is making all ADR reservations for the group on Friday and I will fill in all the details with you privately. We would love to have you!

Crystal Palace-A favorite of all of us and who can’t resist that early ADR to get awesome pictures of the castle and not unintentional photo bombers!

Lunch
(Actually a Brunch…as late for breakfast but early for lunch)

Sanaa
-A new one for all of us and a way to refuel after PHM on Sunday, plus a chance to begin our day long celebration with lots of cupcake friends! If you would like to join in, please PM me ASAP as Debra is making all ADR reservations for the group on Friday and I will fill in all the details with you privately. We would love to have you!

BOG-Hoping to squeeze in some time at Be Our Guest...I just love the theming and the food they offer at lunch. I still have my sights on trying the French Onion Soup...and of course I need a Master's Cupcake!

Dinner

Ohana-This ADR is has special meaning to me, it was the 1 ADR from my TOT trip that caused me so much heart break to let go of when the scheduled trip derailed. Ohana means family and no one gets left behind! When Amy, Debra, and Heather had to back out of ToT for various reasons and other things happened, I knew there was no way I could still eat here without the girls and not end up in a bawling mess as these ladies had become like family to me and it would not be right to be there without them! I am 99.9% certain that nothing is going to stop this ADR this time around (actually 100% sure but why jinx myself)…and of course there is bread pudding! I can’t wait to share the time with Heather’s family! Did I mention they have bread pudding for dessert?

Yachtsman-Another chance for us to dress up and celebrate being together…and another chance to bring out our steak loving sides!

Raglan Road-I have been dying to try this place! A chance to bring out my inner British side with Bangers & Mash or Fish & Chips…plus they offer Bread & Butter Bread Pudding (which Debra tells me is some of the best). If you have not figured out in addition to cupcakes , I love bread pudding …in fact it is one of my comfort foods bringing me wonderful memories of my grandmother).

Narcoossees-Cammy and I ate here on our ToT 10-miler trip and we both loved it, so much that I am pleased that Amy & Debra want to try it. This was #1 on Cammy’s ADR list…she needs the Almond Crusted Cheesecake! I need that too, along with a special dress up dinner with the girls!

Via Napoli-Anyone who has followed my PTR & TR know that I have a love affair with Zeppoles, although I have never had any! They keep hiding from me each trip. Regardless of whether or not I am running a half the next day, this girl is going to have some Zeppoles served by a cute Italian boy! I can’t wait to share this dinner with all my cupcake friends as we get ready for PHM by fueling together! If you would like to join in, please PM me ASAP as Debra is making all ADR reservations for the group on Friday and I will fill in all the details with you privately. We would love to have you!

I am really happy with all of our choices! I think we are going to have a great food, lots of great company, and make countless memories! It is amazing to me that when we made our lists separately and then compiled how similar they all were! I think everyone got all their top choices...as well as new places we wanted to try that our families would never agree to!

All of those sound great! My 180 day is Sunday and I can't believe I don't have everything planned to the minute. And i have a race at 7:00 a.m. so i will be in a corral at the magic 6:00 time. I love CP so much and may miss during my totally messed up ToT trip so it will have to be a given in February! Hope I can do it. And I def want Narcoosees for Sunday night before I am turned into a silly mess at Jelly Rolls;). Kind of disappointed CRT will be closed though. Never went there (boys) and my running partner is bringing her 2 year old for her first trip - it would have been so fun!

Also fell behind on flights bc I waited til the last minute for return on ToT trip - Sotuhwest finally dropped the price so we can leave at 6:45 on Sunday. My friend at work, a non-Disney person, said "How much of a difference can 8 hours make?" I think we ALL know we could make some more magic with those 8 hours.

I am so excited to read all your posts this week - in the past week I found out my dog has cancer, my kid had emergency extraction of two teeth, the other kid needs 4(!) teeth pulled and had a birthday party complete with ninja turtle cake. Thank goodness for your enthusiasm and the return of school!

Looking forward to training and planning for a great trip!

I am shocked too that we don't have things planned to the minute and it took until really tonight to finalize times and such with the ADRs! I think though this is a refreshing thing not to be planned to the minute! I am rather liking the idea of park hoppers and scheduled pool time...one day we have planned is where the wind takes us! Our ADRs will not be tied to a park, in fact most of ours AREN'T...so we can just go with it!

I am also sad about CRT...like really during PHM you shut down CRT? I wanted to do a princess meal! How special it would have been with a 2 year old!

Silly mess at Jellyrolls...NAH, think that will happen....:rotfl2: Yep, we have the tweedles to lead! Time to have some fun!

LOL...that is exactly why we are flying to Dallas the night before so we can have 6 more magical hours and not be on a plane!

So sorry about all the stresses right now for you! Hope things are better soon!

Looking forward to training and planning for a great trip!

Looking forward to lots of memories with you! I need the enthusiasm too...next week training gets back on track. Right, lol!

So…I know I told you all I wasn't going to be apart of this race as it just wasn't in the cards.

Then, coworker #1 started talking about not getting into the Big Sur Marathon down Highway 1 despite trying all 4 registration times & then not being able to get a charity bib on Monday. Then we started talking about races & I mentioned its ashamed we didn't just sign up for PHM. Coworker #2 chimes in. We decided to maybe look if charity bibs were still available. Turns out GetTravel still had both PHM & Glass Slipper Bibs available as long as you booked a room for two nights through them. Well, I had no DVC points left for my April 2014 Use Year so I would need a room anyway. Send Coworker #1 & Coworker #2 the information about GetTravel. Coworker #1 was unsure about the money along with the requirement and such. Coworker #2 got excited.

Coworker #2 & I just went for it today to not risk GetTravel running out of bibs. If Coworker #1 decides to go for it, she can either get her bib through another travel agent or we'll call back and add her to our room.

We figured we would go for the Glass Slipper because why not? We're going to be there anyway, might as well get another medal.

We're staying Thursday the 19th to Sunday 22nd at Pop Century (only hotel left through them) We'll get up there after work on Thursday, enjoy the expo on Friday & the races on Saturday & Sunday. I'm unsure of park plans as while I have an AP, its up to Coworker #2 if she wants to pay for a park ticket for herself (hopefully there will be a Florida Resident $129 3 day play pass or something) If not, we'll entertain ourselves with DTD or Water Parks or something. This will be a girls only trip & it falls on a week that is our three day weekend.

I guess I can make an official introduction now.

I'm a 28 year old Quality Engineer. Prior to this race, I'll have the ToT 10 Miler in October (see Fall 2014 Pre-Trip for that) & the Star Wars Rebel Challenge in January (see Jan 2015 Pre-Trip for that) This race will also get me my Coast to Coast! I'll probably run Wine & Dine in November 2015 so my husband can get his Coast to Coast.

Coworker #2 is in her first year of work after college graduation. Her cube is across from mine so the people next to us better get use to all the running talk ;) She hasn't done a half marathon yet, I think but she will have a Savage Race & a Tough Mudder this fall.

Until Coworker #1 decides 100% if she's going for it or not - costumes will not be decided.

Welcome again DIS_yoda! Hard to resist three more days of fun-- your post made me think...who are our ToT cupcakes?

DIS-yoda....way to cave under Disney Peer Pressure! So glad that you will be along for the fun!!!! I have to admit that I am a little jealous now over glass slipper....maybe next time for me!

Wednesday Wonderings...

What is your favorite attraction (s) in Animal Kingdom?

My favorite attractions at Animal Kingdom have to be

1. Tree of Life-Okay, so maybe not an attraction but I just  staring at it and walking around looking at all the animals!

2. Expedition Everest-I love this ride, I love this ride, I love this ride...and the theming is so much fun!

Yum, yum, yum! I cannot fathom how you are going to fit in a CUPCAKE CRAWL in between all these ADR's though! :lmao:

Ahhh, Animal Kingdom! I love it, I don't care if other people don't. It's the African-flare, I think, that I like the most. The green, the music, the little details in the theming.

Oh I'm sorry, did you not want me to post a whole photo album of shots? ;) Shouldn't have asked me about AK then! :lmao:

It's funny you wrote about ADRs. Just yesterday I sat down to make a plan for my family!

I don't think we'll have too many ADRs. I asked the boys to pick one each and (much to DHs dismay) they both picked Chef Mickeys. Hoping to do breakfast there.

I'd like to do Ohana on Saturday evening but not sure if my parents want to do it.

I'm planning on Trail's end BF and hopefully we can get there on Sat after the kids races.

Thinking about Sci-fi for lunch.

Crystal Palace is my favorite breakfast so I might just book that because I'm the planner so I get to choose!

DH might want Via Napoli or maybe the new restaurant on the BW that's opening. He also loves Paradiso 37 but I'm afraid of going to DTD. It's just such a mess! We'll see where it is in 6 months.

Other than that I think we might just be good with counter service. We will also have a car so we may venture off site.

Without a shadow of a doubt- my favorite ride at Animal Kingdom is Everest.

I absolutely LOVE this ride!

I love the Safari and spend most of my time at AK doing animal stuff with the kids. I have never been on EE but may try it in October. Has anyone done the AK tour above the animals? Thinking of doing that too.
