PHM 2015-In Pursuit of Cupcakes While Running in Glass Slippers

Made watermelon cupcakes this weekend. They were from a mix but tasted pretty good (as you can see from the bite mark!). Not as good as a. Giant WDW cupcake though.

It's the Garmin Forerunner 10! It's a GPS watch and tracks distance! It doesn't have a heart rate monitor. I'm going to get the new Samsung Galaxy 5 this year and it tracks your heart rate so I'll have that soon

For what it's worth, I have the s5 and the heart rate monitor isn't all that accurate. I think it runs a little low. And it doesn't track your heart rate (unless you buy one of the separate watch things that sync up with it, and even then I'm not sure if it tracks it while you work out), you have to stand still and be quiet and put your finger over the sensor on the back underneath the camera.




For a gps/distance app I use endomondo. It seems to be the most accurate out of the ones I've tried. It also syncs up with my fitness pal, if anyone uses that. It records split times, avg. pacing, etc...I have a touch mesh banjee that I wear on my wrist and it works well for me as far as accessing my phone while I run. I feel like I'm on star trek when I use it, LOL.

Kind of embarrassed to admit I have Zendaya "Replay" & Miley Cyrus "Party in the USA" on my Ipod.

Do any of you cupcakes use a GPS watch that tells you your distance/pace/etc? I am kind of obsessed with being able to see my pace...it keeps me on track...like when you set a pace on the treadmill. It's hard to use my phone just because it obviously goes off so I am thinking of investing in one. Any recommendations?

I have a Garmin Forerunner 10 that I love, but will soon purchase a 210 for marathon training since it has an 8hr battery life.

Well no running today...or lunch walk! On day 3 of dust storm...



I did get to walk last night when we got a short break from wind!

What souvenir do you have to get each time you go to Disney or on a trip?

I am not much into souvenirs. Usually my souvenir is the pictures that I take and the scrapbook albums that I make from them. But I do like to indulge on a couple little things while on trips. I collect picture frames and ornaments on trips.

I am thinking of maybe a castle frame this time...but this is my favorite. Love me Hidden Mickeys!

My must have is a Christmas ornament from the Downtown Disney shop! Last year they had a special order glass slipper one but I did not have enough time remaining on the trip to order before we left.

Tammie, that picture frame is nice! That is another wonderful idea as a souvenir!

I usually buy a Christmas ornament and a pin or two. I still look for silver charms for my charm bracelet. Lately I've been getting pressed pennies to make into a bracelet. And of course photos.

Not saying I haven't also purchased toys, kitchen stuff, candy...it can get out of hand

We usually get an ornament with the date on it. This time I got a cool EPCOT one I really like.

Yes it was from Target. We had a cookout and I made them as dessert. The kids loved them and I admit they were pretty tasty. I am sure I could have made them cuter but I am so not a baker!

No it was pre made watermelon flavor. I wish I had some mini chocolate chips to put on top for seeds but honestly they were a big hit with the kids and the grown ups are them too. They kind of had a Jolly Rancher watermelon flavor to them. Very sweet!

I'm about at the point where I don't bring home many souvenirs other than photos. However, lately, I've been really digging the Chamilia bracelet charms. I love the one that I got on the cruise ship that had the DCL logo on it.

Does the Garmin track anything else, like route or heart rate?

It tracks distance, pace, elevation, and mine does Heart rate. I never wear the heart rate monitor though because I don't want it rubbing. My friend got a bad mark from hers. But I wanted the option in case I wanted to train by heart rate (read about it in Finding Ultra)

I love to buy ornaments. So usually one of those. A pin usually. I am also into the Alex and Ani bracelets (should be getting a couple for mother's day, but I don't know anything about that ). I am so into the Vera Bradley as well so hopefully I can get a couple more pieces while there. We just bought a bunch of pins on ebay so our daughter can start trading so that is our fun things right now. Oh and coffee mugs, I love me a good coffee mug!​

I try to get some sort of purse each time I go. The first time (honeymoon) I spent all my spending money on a beautiful Dooney and Bourke Pop Princess satchel (i think that's the style it is...), and I have no regrets.

This time I wanted a Princess Half wristlet, and a Vera Bradley Where's Mickey purse. They didn't have either (PHM they only had letter carrier, shopper and tote sizes, more than I wanted to spend. I actually immediately regretted it, and they were sold out before I got back the next day. Ended up paying about $50 extra on a Letter Carrier after the fact. Ah well.). I got a Vera Bradley Midnight with Mickey mini hipster though.



Do Tuesday or Thursday have any questions for them? I think you should have an article day. I was just reading one about 'should you encourage someone you pass in a race?' opinion article, it was pretty neat.
