YAY CUPCAKES!!!!!!!! :lovestruc Love this group!

Thought this was important to share with you: Yesterday my daughter and I stopped by a local charity drive and purchased 2 dozen cupcakes to bring home to the family. I barely remembered to snap a pic for my Cupcake friends as we sat in the car scarfing them down, unwilling to wait until we even got home! :lmao:

and here I told you that I didn't really eat cupcakes unless I was on vacation. :rolleyes1

So Tammie, have you figured out how/when the cupcake crawl will work? Will it be all on Sunday after the half? Just wondering (ok, I happen to be thinking about park plans...it's only 10 1/2 months, right?) :lmao:

Your DVC, so you should! NOTHING ELSE IS GOING TO HAPPEN ON THE 15th at my house...:rotfl2:

I will sleep at my computer with cc in hand!! Eventhough it opens up at noon (est)... Is your daughter Ab doing the 10k, my soon to be 14yr old wants to do it but unlike Ab, my daughter likes the idea of running but is not willing to put in the training.

I see a redvelvet cupcake in there!! Was it delish?

I know traditionally there is a pre race meet up and a post race meet up.

Welcome to our newest cupcakes! Our cast of characters is really growing! Cant wait to take this journey with everyone :)

Cupcake of the week for this week, count me out. I am not a big chocolate person.

Tammie, I love gelato! We always get gelato at Bellagio when we go to Vegas, so you can guess what is on my "to do list" when I go back for RnR Vegas.

Check this great blog post out! Lots of great advice for PHM2015...plus is that Karen in the last picture?

Read the blog post. Definitely some good info for our new PHM runners. She also mentioned race weekend transportation, I would recommend reading that also. We had a transportation fiasco on half marathon morning this year. Lets just say we got to the bus stop at 305am with 3 other people waiting, and we finally got on a bus at 430am. STRESSFUL!!!!!

Yes! There was red velvet! Unfortunately, I couldn't eat ALL the cupcakes, so I didn't get to try that one! :lmao:

I KNEW you were stalking me Tammie! :lmao:

April(AKA my twinkie) is fantastic, we had a great time during PHM and she was a big part of my race report (which I'll be putting in my trip report!...although it's already posted on my blog if you are impatient) :goodvibes

Yep, the earlybird gets the worm in this case! April & I showed up at 3am and walked straight onto a bus, no line at all...and sat in the first seat. Bus filled up in 5 minutes and we were off! I had no stress about getting there at all and the time flew once we were there and in line for a few pics. I didn't feel like it was a horrible wait and totally worth leaving early! :thumbsup2

Glad you could at least save us a picture...yum!

Before the race I would love to get a group picture and maybe a group picture afterwards...really hoping this time not to cross that finish line alone.

I have no idea yet...open to all suggestions. I figure once we have our cupcake list together we can plot a plan of attack on the map...guess I will need to get park hoppers this time, cause I already know there are cupcakes in each park I want to try. HELP...ideas welcome!

I was thinking of a princess breakfast or lunch that day...and spend the rest of the day crawling (literally) and then a nice celebration dinner and jelly rolls...boy am I going to need the B12 that entire day!

I so don't know a lot of how things work this weekend...again HELP

Are you tempting me...darn nephew needs to decide soon what he is doing in November that messes with my running! Although shhhh but he is my favorite!

I know ToT is a lot smaller and it was at night...but at CBR we had no issues! But you are right I read lots this year about bus issues...lets hope they get it straight this year! I don't NEED KNOW STRESS BEFORE THE RACE I AM ALREADY A MESS!!!

Well than who ate them all...blame the child!

Totally by accident...:rotfl2:...I was fighting a migraine all day and last night when I was over the worst I checked facebook and it popped up in the PHM group...so I went to bookmark it to read later...and love looking at costume pictures...and WHAM there you were....how cool that I "know" someone in a blog!

Knowing me I will be at the bus stop at 2:30! Saying is it time yet, is it time yet! I am so not a late person...and if I am not early I am stressed!

Tammie, a group picture before will be fun, BUT...it has to be planned well. I tried to do a few group meetups (FB groups, so they are huge groups of people you don't necessarily know) and it was nearly impossible to figure out what group was what! There are SO many people. My suggestion would be to pick a time, a place (which I can help with when we get closer b/c I remember a few areas that are easy to find) and then have someone have a little SIGN, so we can find each other. Oh and afterwards I would be happy to do a group shot once I've showered, changed, and I'm wearing all my medals! I'm a hotmess right afterwards! LOL!

As for the early bus, April & I were actually walking up at about 2:52 (I looked at my phone) and saw what we presumed was the first bus leaving already! They say the buses start running at 3am, but I think this year they started a tad early. Our bus pulled up as we were walking up and we walked right on b/c there was no line. I absolutely will do the same next year! :thumbsup2 I saw photos and reports of the HUGE bus lines (at our actual resort) just 30 minutes later and I'm not a fan of lines! ;)

A Princess Breakfast/Brunch sounds great! Akershus? No idea how you go about making an ADR for a large group, I guess people just make their own reservations and try to get them around the same time? I want the Princesses to sign my bib this time (actually, I will probably do ALL the characters I come across) so that will be nice for me to get a bunch of them at once! I know Nicole & I plan on hoppers for sure!

Makes sense to wait until we have gone through all the cupcakes to figure out the plan of attack! :thumbsup2

Music Mondays

Forgive my absence yesterday, I was fighting one of my worst migraines in a very long time. UGH, finally though about 7 pm I crawled out of the dark cave I had made for myself and let my family know I was alive...then of course Harry Potter marathon was on...got to get me some Ron! This morning I am still feeling the effects...the day after is usually pretty bad...my body feels like it has been through a war zone! Ugh not a great way to start the week. So....

how about Music Mondays as another way to pass the time. Let's share some of the tunes that keep you going while you run. I think everyone has already figured out my love affair with Let it Go and What Doesn't Kill You Make's You Stronger...

So share one song that you have at the beginning of your play list? For me I love to start with "Ready to Run" by the Dixie Chicks.

I am not sure that I am ever ready to run or if I am ready for some fun...but it does get me going! Its all mental...

Sunday Stat's
for Tammie
5K Training Week 3
Total Distance: 11.68 mi

My goal this week was to get out 3 times walking & 3 times running. Did I make it?

Monday, March 24 (WALKING): Wahoo, first day of my weekly goal done. Today, I managed to get out at lunch and walk the school neighborhood. I got in 2 miles with an average walking pace of 15:54 mm over those 2 miles.

Tuesday, March 25 (INTERVAL SHORT-5K W3/D1): Run night, and I really needed that me time by the time I got out of the house from what I call the “witching hours”(that time between when you get home, get homework/snacks taken care, dinner made/served/cleaned up). Of course, I went over the workout distance (can’t stand uneven mileage distance), so I ran 2.04 miles with an average pace of 13:32 mm (my second mile was UNDER 13 minutes). Tonight I felt really strong and motivated!

***My shins have not been hurting, but I have the deep muscle bruise like pain in the area of where my stress fracture was so I decided to try some inserts during in my shoes. We will see how that works!

Wednesday, March 26 (WALKING): Yay, another much needed walk during lunch today in the neighborhood. Only today things were a little different...IT WAS WET OUTSIDE, yes actual rain had fallen starting early this morning into late morning. I thought twice about getting out there, but I waited long enough and it had stopped. What a refreshing walk with the dust settled out of the air and that clean fresh scent, I almost did not want to come back to work. I managed 2 miles today, but my pace was really off…maybe the inserts or maybe just enjoying the walk in the rain as my average walking pace was at 17:11 mm.

Thursday, March 27 (INTERVAL SHORT-5K W3/D2): I was really excited to get out for my interval run and with dinner already prepped in the crock pot waiting the boys and I loaded up in the car with Goo’s bike and headed to the park. Great they could mess with each other while I ran…bad idea they got the idea that it would be funny as mom ran around to sneak up behind her and scare the living daylights out of me several times. Also, I learned that inserts may work for walking and using every day, but not while I am running…hurt my feet too much. My run distance was 2.02 miles with an average 13:51 mm. Today I felt sluggish and off. I did take this picture in the parking lot, apparently someone had more fun at the park than I had tonight, JELLO shots? LOL, probably not but it sure was nice to think that way. In my neighborhood these are probably hot sauce containers for burritos.

Friday, March 28 (NONE): Well it just did not happen today to get out for lunch for a walk, too much to get done and after school I was just too tired. So much for my goal of 3 days walking this week...:sad2:

Saturday, March 29 (INTERVAL LONG-5K W3/D3): I sure wish that I could sleep in on a Saturday, but I am a morning person so up I am along with the sun, just wished that the temp outside would cooperate. Finally, at 9 am and 40 degrees I decided to get going with my long run day. Really not very long yet in the training program, a scheduled 2.5 miles and of course I would do more but just how far would I push myself? I really wanted to know to more about how I was looking for a 5K in a few weeks, since I am already 3 weeks of where I wanted to be training wise. So after 2.5 miles came and went with me feeling strong, I decided to go for a 5K. I ended up going 3.62 by the time I finished with a cool down on top of the 5K with a pace of 12:39. ARE YOU KIDDING ME…I JUST RAN over 3 miles under a 13 minute mile and that includes 6 minutes of shear walking warm up/cool down! My splits (13:23, 12:45, 10:51, 13:44)…look at my 3rd mile split 10:51! Amazing, maybe I might shape up to be a better runner than I think I can be…of course when I start feeling good, injury time so I will just keep holding my breath! Also, today I noticed one of my favorite signs of spring…

Nice choice! :thumbsup2 I'll go with "Pompii" by Bastille. I LOVE this song and it has a fantastic beat to run to. When I was in a lot of pain during the PHM, I put both my earbuds in, blasted it, and totally zoned out. :goodvibes

Just watched a lyric youtube video for this song...I love the line "HOW AM I GOING TO BE AN OPTIMIST ABOUT THIS?" I need to add this to my playlist!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m326LNIRB3k

Thanks Karen! I knew we could help each other find new songs to change up our playlists!

Yhea- I love music help- I'm always asking for good running songs!!!

I added Pompeii awhile ago when Karen recommended it... and I love it!
I will look into Dixie Chicks too!

One of my favorite songs I trained to was "Feel this Moment" (Pit Bull and Christina Agularia) because it rang true and as I ran I knew I Just wanted to 'feel this moment' as I crossed the finish line!

Another one I like is Radioactive by IMagine Dragons.

I like the idea of Akeshauraus after PHM-although not sure the logistics of making that work- as it's a pretty popular choice.... We could have a back up plan of another 'brunch' place- maybe at a monorail Resort where we could hope over to MK to begin the cupcake crawl. Ohana's or 1900 Park Faire? Those places might be easier to get a larger group in? Maybe.. maybe not- what do I know? :)

I had a stressful Wine & Dine bussing experience as well. I didn't think we were going to make it there on time! I will definetly be making sure I'm on the FIRST bus out for both ToT and PHM weekend!!!
