I can't imagine gelato on the streets of Italy. That is going to be so great. We are going on a cruise in October and there is the small gelato shop in Miami that sells some really great gelato that we want to get. Europe, wow that is a very nice trip!!!

Training front. Saturday used to be my long run day but I'm taking a break until May so that I can concentrate on building leg muscles and strengthen my core.
So today was a simple leg day at gym only 7 min on the stair climber!
We are headed to a friends sweet 16 birthday party there will be cake yes cupcakes no:worried:. I do not like regular cake... It's something special about cupcakes.

Introducing our newest Cupcake Runner...

Kafi (MaMa3Princess)

My name is Kafi and we hail from outside of The city of Atlanta. My family is the joy of my life and I serve them gladly!!

I took up running at 38 and just celebrated my 40th birthday. All variables are changing but I find peace and solitude in running. I'm not fast or slow but in between! I am the quiet observer and may not talk much when in a crowd. I love to listen to people and learn much about them
.
I love Disney because it a place that brings out the kid in all of us even my cooler than cool teens still have to crack a smile and be ca kid when Mickey or Goofy comes up to them!

We love all things Disney and I secretly am turning all my Christmas ornament into Disney one by one!

My favorite cupcake is the red velvet all day every day. A red velvet cupcake in Disney World Resort well... That's paradise!!!

Can't wait to meet my fellow Cupcake Crawler!!

Hi! Hi! My name is Karen! Screename is twoboysnmygirl, because I have two boys (18&19) and a girl!(13). Good thing I got my tubes tied before the made the screename years ago. ;)

LOL...I had to modify my screen name...added the jo for #3 ugh...but I would not trade him (well at least not right at this moment)

I'm pretty sarcastic and snarky by nature, but not in a meanie-head way! I just like to joke around a lot, usually at my own expense. :p

Love this...I can already tell by your posts we will get along great...you are much better portraying your sarcastic snarky side online then I am...people just don't get me...maybe cause I really am not as funny as I think I am...

My Real Life Side: Mother of three, and married to the most amazing man for 20something years. I honestly cannot keep track, but more than half my life. :lovestruc I'm 41 years young and act like I'm 13 most of the time. I have my own petsitting business that I've been building for 10 years and I homeschooled my children. My husband is a truck driver. We moved out to a VERY rural area 10 years ago, I have adjusted, but man it was hard to give up Target and Starbucks! ;) My boys both just started college and my daughter, Savannah, is the apple of my eye. I never could imagine having this type of relationship with my kids, we are very close. Oh and I'm a vegetarian. Not sure that makes a difference, except that I don't like bacon on my cupcakes please. Last but not least, I'm a photographer, and if you see me post without a slough of photos, I'm probably ill. Case in point: shot of me and my girl at AKL just a month ago when I ran the Princess Half.

Nothing wrong with the vegetarian side of you...as long as I can have my steak and hamburger...I love following you TR with your daughter...you know few of us are taking our daughters along and she fits in the age group! I love you photos...you have an great eye in capturing things! I think you need to give me lessons!

WDWPrincesshalf00259.jpg

My Disney Side: I never went to Disney as a child. I know, I was a grossly disadvantaged child. Actually, I wasn't, but my dad didn't like crowds and my mom didn't like roller coasters. But I digress... In 2008 a friend of mine (with a daughter that was best friends with Savannah) decided to take us to Disney and introduce us to it's magic. WOW, what had I missed?!?! It took about 2 seconds of seeing the wonder in my 7, almost 8 year old girl's eyes...and I was hooked! :lovestruc Not a week home from that trip, I showed my MIL all the shots and planted the seed. She was ready to go on a trip in 2009! Since then my life has been a series of moments waiting to go back and go back I have! We went with the IL's, then finally saved up enough to go with just the 5 of us in early 2012, followed by a solo anniversary trip for Rey & I and the last two February's with my girl. Nope, not obsessed at all! :rolleyes1 I don't have favorite characters, really, love them all. Favorite rides: Expedition Everest, Big Thunder, HM, Peter Pan. Favorite drink: Grey Goose Slushie in France! Favorite resort: Animal Kingdom Lodge! Ah, the magic, the fun, and photos!!!!

Did not make it to Disney (at least WDW until I was 40+! My life is now a series of moments till the next trip...if I space them out about every 18 months my dh does not say too much! Although I am still trying to get him warmed up to PHM...but I have 10 more months right!

WDW2009day30-1-1.jpg

told you I like pictures.

My Running Side: So, when you love a place so much, how could you not want to DO something you LOVE, at a PLACE you LOVE?!?! My running life started years ago when I did Couch to 5K. Savannah was pretty little, so 10 years ago? I had some injuries and quit for a few years and then took it back up about 4 years ago. I had my sights set on the Princess Half but injuries have plagued my running career (still not sure why, I believe I have some muscle recovery issues?) and I kept having to put it off. Last February after going to WDW with Savannah, I decided I was signing up and training and I would crawl over that finish line if I had to! I nearly did! ;) I started a blog to document my journey and what a journey it was!

I tend to be injury prone too...crossing my fingers we both don't have issues the next 10 months!

I spent the year training really hard, had more injuries, and as the race approached got a wicked case of runner's knee. I was determined though and I did it! I ran in pain and it was hard, but accomplishing this dream made me realize that injuries are setbacks but they won't make me quit. I love running and pain is temporary. Nothing beats this feeling...
755147-1158-0006sss.jpg

They call me JAZZHANDS by the way. :lmao:

Nothing beats the moment you see the finish line and cross...instead of doing it alone like my last Disney Race...now I have lots of cupcakes to celebrate the moment with...and making sure I have JAZZ HANDS!

I run as many local races as I can, although they are usually just 5K's. We have a couple 10K's a year and that's it. I have to travel over 100 miles to get anywhere with a half and I cannot take off work without giving clients at least 6 months notice and never during a "typical vacation time" for most people (Christmas, Spring Break, Summer, etc) so February and traveling to Disney for the Princess work perfectly for me! It took me about a week to decide(about until the pain faded. LOL) that in 2015 I would do it again and this time the Glass Slipper Challenge! :thumbsup2 I'm rooming with my sisterfromanothermister, Nicole (a fellow cupcake sistah) and we already have our 10K costumes planned out together! I met a LOT of runners through my blog (link in my siggie) and met up with many of them before/during/and after the race this year and I'm so looking forward to meeting more Princesses and making it a girl's weekend! I'll be going without family this time and plan to have many many cupcakes and drinks after these races. I love running, but having cupcakes and booze is the icing on the cake! Literally. ;) I'm proof that you can be a cupcake and love running!

I think cupcakes can love running, but they can't take themselves or the race too seriously! Jealous of all your fun 5Ks...

I'll be starting a PTR in the next month or so, but I also have a Trip Report going from the Princess Half trip last month if you are interested. Link is in my signature! CUPCAKE ON!!! :thumbsup2

So glad that you are a CUPCAKE too...this is going to be so much fun!

What a great family...I bow to you!

I took up running at 38 and just celebrated my 40th birthday. All variables are changing but I find peace and solitude in running. I'm not fast or slow but in between! I am the quiet observer and may not talk much when in a crowd. I love to listen to people and learn much about them.

I find the peace and solitude in running too...sometimes though I find myself forgetting to focus on that peace! I am pretty quite...but once I feel comfortable with you watch out! One of my favorite things at Disney is to people watch!

I love Disney because it a place that brings out the kid in all of us even my cooler than cool teens still have to crack a smile and be ca kid when Mickey or Goofy comes up to them!

Its amazing how Disney brings out the smiles in teens too...

We love all things Disney and I secretly am turning all my Christmas ornament into Disney one by one!

I am looking forward to adding a new one to my tree because of this race!

My favorite cupcake is the red velvet all day every day. A red velvet cupcake in Disney World Resort well... That's paradise!!!

Looking forward to having you as a CUPCAKE!

It will be a very nice trip, IF I GET SOME PLANS NAILED DOWN. I honestly am so overwhelmed with the plans...been trying to put something on paper since last November. I have some skeleton plans...

We have a gelato store that is pretty good, okay I think it is great but I have never had the real thing...so I can't wait to compare!

Training front. Saturday used to be my long run day but I'm taking a break until May so that I can concentrate on building leg muscles and strengthen my core.

Saturdays are my long run days, too! Keep strengthening that core and it will pay off for you! I can't wait to share my run today...it was !

I like cake...but you are right there is something special about a cupcake.

"Donna" from Baltimore

My Real Life Side: I'm 50 years old, have two wonderful children (both in their twenties), and I am an office manager for a Pediatric practice. LOVE spending time with family and friends - making memories forever!!

My Disney Side: Have been to the World 13 times and just last month my first visit to Disneyland! Also have 2 Disney cruises under my belt. 5 of my World visits have been during the Christmas season; just LOVE all the beautiful decorations and can't enough of seeing those marching wooden soldiers in the Holiday Parade!!

My Running Side: Feb 2011, registered for the Disney Royal Family 5K and walked. I found the Expo to be so inspirational and it was the first time I learned about Jeff Galloway. 2013, the year of my 50th birthday - I wanted to make some changes...to be more active, lose some weight and to be healthy. Feb 2013, my Galloway running journey begins! 13 months later, I'm still running and still loving it - oh, I'm down 38lbs!! 10 5Ks and 1 half-marathon completed and more to come. Since that first 5k 2 years ago in Disney, I've been dreaming of the PHM. Now I'm dreaming even bigger and I am up to the challenge, the Glass Slipper Challenge!!

**Now if only I could get rid of this anxiety of how fast these racing events are selling out. I'll be sitting at my computer on July 15th at noon ready to go; soooooo hoping I make it in!!**

Cupcake Friday
(as if Friday in not sweet enough)

Triple Chocolate
More Cupcakes from BOG

Well it looks like we have about finished all the cupcake offerings in Magic Kingdom, other than the seasonal ones (which are standard cupcakes with a seasonal decoration…boring). The cupcakes at Big Top really did not appeal to anyone, and Nicole suggested that we go back to BOG and try out the rest…

Triple Chocolate

The Triple Chocolate cupcake is just what the names implies…chocolate! To be more exact a chocolate sponge cake filled with a chocolate mousse. It is frosted with a panache like chocolate frosting decorated with a fresh raspberry and apparently the same little gold decorated chocolate piece that is on the Master’s Cupcake that says “Be Our Guest.” From reviews the frosting by far is the best part of the cupcake…very rich and very yummy…as the Pixie Dust Diva writes in her blog “AMAZING. Maybe it was because the icing was so superior, but when you got to the cake it was a bit of a disappointment. It was still good, but it was really crumbly, and not quite as good as that icing deserved!”

YUM! Now this is my cup of 'cupcake'. I did not try this at BOG in November- not sure why?!?!

Shame on me, I will remedy on the crawl!

I will come back and catch up.... But did anyone ever try the grey stuff recipe? I'd like to make it tonight for a cake for tomorrow's party....

I know I'm late to the party (was SO busy getting my 'sun' on)- but yes, I made this. It was easy & my family loved it. It was gone in 24 hours. I did not take time to make it fancy- we just made it in a big bowl & ate it straight from there!!! ;)

Working on research for our Europe trip...I  cupcakes, but I (and my family) adore ice cream! Our rule at WDW (or on any vacation) ice cream for breakfast at least 1 time during the trip!

A whole website dedicated to Italy's Gelato...so downloading this guide! I love her FIRST RULE: One must eat at least 2 scoops of gelato a day! I think I can handle that rule...and I am such a rule follower anyway!

I went to Italy in 2007 and the little gelato shops were my FAVORITE thing about Italy. The perfect mix, in my humble, sugar addicted mind... strawberry and lemon together in one cone. Yummo!!

I am glad to say- I totally followed the rules as stated above. I had Gelato everyday in Italy. Sometimes twice. Maybe even three times if I think about it! Hahahahaha!!!

Welcome Donna & Kafi....

I enjoyed reading your bios and look forward to meeting you gals & sharing some cupcakes! :)

Hi, I am EcbLovesMickey

My REAL Life: I am a 30 something stay at home mom to two boys. I also write for some blogs for some extra cash :)

My Disney Side: I have been to WDW countless times, Disneyland California once and Disneyland Paris once. We are DVC owners and seem to always use up our points each year, and if we have extra, we add a trip!

My Running Side: I have been "running" for a couple of years. I have run a bunch of 5Ks, a few 10Ks and a handful of 1/2 marathons. I am not a fast runner, nor do I pretend to be. My motto is "girls compete with each other, women empower each other" I am not here to compete, just to have fun and support my fellow cupcakes!

Hi fellow cupcake runners!

Honored to be part of this PTR & adding my bio to a fab group of women! I'm seriously so excited to meet you all next February! :thumbsup2

My name is Nicole (Tinker326)- I'm a just turned 37 year old(can you guess where the 326 in my Dis name came from? My birthday!)

My Real Life Side- I'm a mom to three girls- Rebecca (almost 12), Sarah (almost 9) and Charlotte (5). First two are home grown & the littlest one we are blessed that we get to be her parents- she came to us from China at 4. She's my hero..this girl has been through so much & yet has the biggest best smile ever! I'm so lucky to be her momma! :lovestruc. Have been married to Kurt for 14 years this May- together for almost 18 years.

I also work full time as a software developer/tax researcher.

I tend to be incredibly sarcastic (like Karen- at the expense of myself) and I love to write (I get lengthy and long winded..and I'm sure people start to tune me out!). I am also shy (would you guess it online?) when I meet people for the first time.

I enjoy traveling, reading, writing, taking pictures & digital scrapbooking. I also lead both my older girls Girl Scout Troops and that takes a good deal of my time. Oh, and I have a minor (major) sugar addiction problem! That's why I was instantly drawn into this group! :rotfl2:

My Disney Side- Um, I love Disney. Like. A lot. I was an airline brat as a child (my mom worked for United in the Golden days when we could jump a plane to wherever for free & stay at a hotel for nothing with the airline discount). She loved Disneyland and took me there frequently as a child. I first did Disneyworld in 6th Grade..then in High School once & once in College where I realized I loved it. I have been going there almost yearly since 2001. We have also done Disneyland once as a family, two Disney Cruises (this May will be our 3rd) & I went to Disneyland Paris on a Girls trip in 2011. My favorite character is Donald (because he's Cranky and Sarcastic). My favorite rides are Peter Pan, Expedition Everest & Tower of Terror!

My Running Side- A little over a year ago I couldn't run down the block. I have a sister-in-law who started running and did PHM in 2012. She came home and convinced me that I needed to sign up with her for Wine & Dine for 2012. I couldn't at the time due to our adoption..but sometime after that she convinced me it was a good idea & I signed up. I spent the next 7 months cursing her as I attempted to get my body in shape to run this half. I struggled through training & a lot with self-doubt... but somehow I found myself at the start line this November of the Wine & Dine half. And even more surprising- I found myself crossing the finish line. I did it!!

I swore never again. Like ever. And then... somehow, I signed myself up for the ToT 10 miler in February. Figuring if I could do 13.1, surely I could do 10 much easier. And it would get me training again ( I don't love to run- don't hold it too much against me!).

Then...... people started coming back from the 2014 PHM and raving about it.. and before I could blink.. I found myself 100% in with some awesome cupcake girls & one awesome sisterfromanothermister (Karen) roomie. Not only am I committing to another half- but I am going to do the GSC as well. I CAN do it (I'm incredibly determined!) & I have my cupcake girls to support me! Plus the promise of sugar and alcohol helps!!!

I look forward to an awesome journey with you all!

So jealous of your many adventures to WDW and cruises...I love Christmas too...but I was pleasantly surprised by fall at WDW this past year. The lights at Christmas are my favorite. If I ever go back in the Summer I am going to be so bored...LOL.

I know it is crazy how fast they are going...I am thinking about calling Chase and see if they will switch my amazon card to a Disney card...just in case they offer early sign up again for card holders...

I dream of DVC, but sure it wont happen with my husband. His idea of vacation and vacation home is our cabin in the mountains...which I love but I also like to GO! Hmmm maybe when I retire I will invest myself...

I don't pretend to be fast either...:rotfl2: LOL...I understand though in races outside of Disney that you need to be fast too. I love your motto...it is so perfect for this group!

I would love to learn more about how to make a few extra dollars with blogs, do you mind sharing that information.
