Any experience w/ long term parking over the holidays at PHL. Leaving early 12/25. I have alternate reservations at Colonial Parking, but would like to use PHL. Called Phil Parking and they mentioned that there should be plenty of spaces because the business people won't be using the spaces over the holidays.???

I guess we drive to Long Term Parking and search for a space and then wait for the PHL bus to pick us up????? Or is it easy to drop off my family with the luggage, let them go through security while I park the car and have the bus drop me off????? Is it easy riding around the airport doing this or will I get lost???

Any suggestions would be a help.

Thanks
Chris

Sorry can't help with the long time parking question. But have you considered airport transportation from a limo company? It doesn't have to be a limo - town car etc. Some even have van service.

We use a service because we find the airport confusing and the drivers can always get us to the airport in a timely manner and they know more than one route in case of traffic. Yes it is a little more expensive then driving and parking but we prefer less hassle.

Whatever you decide - have a wonderful trip!

We use Pacifico Valet. Their driver will take you to the gate in your own car then return to Pacifico and park it there. It's so much easier with small children to have someone drop you off at the gate without having to get the kids and/or luggage out of the car.

I read somewhere recently - probably in the Philadelphia Inquirer - the parking is still pretty much at a premium at the airport despite words to the contrary. Don't know how true this is, because we don't park there; we use the lots around the airport, either Colonial or SmartPark (or get dropped off, we live about 15 minutes away). There are dozens more.

Check out the information on this website; it may be helpful.

We've used Pacifico Fords Valet & so has our friends. Great experience w/ no problems@ all. They also can arrange service on your car while you are away. Recommend considering this option.

Have done long-term parking at PHL many times...it's pretty easy, just park in the remote lot and the bus will pick you up (from one of the marked areas in the lot) and drop you at the terminal. If you have lot of luggage, it would be easier to let your spouse off with it, although the buses have luggage racks. Just leave plenty of time, usually the wait for the bus to terminal is short but you never know.

We always park at the Ramada Inn lot (off Essington Ave.). Before we have the car parked, a van pulls up. The van drops us off at our terminal. On the return trip, we pick up the Ramada Inn phone and usually within 15 minutes the van comes. We are dropped off at our car. Last year we paid $8 a day for parking. We have never had a problem.

Last Spring I decided to try the long term parking area at PHL, I had to drive around a long time before I was able to find a parking spot. I was directed by one of the parking lot attendants to park all the way in the back of the lot where the busses turn around. Since then, the next three flights we have taken out of PHL we have used Rapid Rover to get us to and from PHL, and will continue to do so from now on. For me, the $$ paid for Rapid Rover was well worth it, I won't be parking at the PHL long term parking lot again.

I always use ExpressPark.
I've used a lot of the other companies, but the service with ExpressPark is the best. They are $8.95 per day.
I-95 exit at Cargo City.
Left at light.
Straight until it ends. Turn right.
Express Park will be on your left.

SunPark and Ampco Express that's off of Island Avenue near the bridge. Both have online coupons, and quick shuttles. Ampco even has a covered garage for like $ 1. more a day. I actually like them better.

We started using Winner Airport Parking when we got a discount coupon in the mail last year, and have been using them ever since. They're one of the services that drives you to the airport in your own car, and picks you up in your own car. No waiting for a shuttle.

Last Christmas eve (in the early AM) I tried to park in the PHL long term parking and they were full. At that time they were giving out vouchers if the lot was full so I got to park in the short term parking for the price of the long term lot. From what I have read they no longer do this so you pay full price where ever you park. I usually park at Colonial Parking-- check their website they often have coupons-- and I haven't had a problem. The Sunday Phila Inquirer had an article discussing different options about a year and a half ago you might be able to find it on line.

This is what we use as well when we can't find someone to drive us. We used it this past October with no problems.
