PHL airport drop off rental & luggage?

Am flying out of Philadelphia Airport next week with my two small children. We will be driving a one way rental with Hertz getting to Philly. I have never done this and am concerned about the logistics of getting our luggage checked in.

I don't think I could do curbside check in before dropping off the car because the car would sit idle at the curb and I don't know if that's allowed.

If I drop the car first, are there luggage carts or skycaps to assist. My kids are 4 & 1 so they won't be able to help with the luggage at all.

Any advice would be appreciated!

There have been several times that we have checked in curbside before DH took the car to long term parking and no one has ever given us grief.
But if you are apprehensive there are skycaps.

call the hertz office at the airport and ask them. When I have tried to pick up people at the Philly airport the police do not let me stop unless the person I'am picking up is standing right there

Thanks everyone for the replies! Our flight is very early, so not sure how traffic be. I will try to park at the curb, if we get chased Ill resort to a skycap help. I tried contacting hertz and can never get someone to answer the phone...the message directs you to call the main customer service # and they weren't sure of available options!

They do have a shuttle bus you can board to get to the terminal from the drop off facility. They run often and steady. I live in Philly and fly out of their often. I only rent from Hertz when I rent and have used their shuttle service from time to time and have never had a problem. Depending on the mood of the police officer will determine how long you can stay in front of the terminal with your car. I have seen afair share of cars ticketed and towed so I dont recommend it unless someone will be in very close proximity of the vehicle.

I would return the car to Hertz and then take their shuttle to the airport. They will drop you, the kids and the luggage curbside.
